I have to go with Single an poor as I prefer no backdoor action.
But had you asked "Which would you prefer: to be married to a Chinese woman, or be single and poor?", then I'd probably go with married. And being a civil servant isn't that bad in China (in some cases you can even live decently without hongbao)
What on earth is this question about?! Why would marrying a Chinese man be a bad decision just because of the nationality?

That may explain why you see so many Chinese women with foreign men ( & often NOT to get money or a green card) & rarely see a foreign woman with a Chinese guy.

mostly because of manners and often foreign girls are bigger and thus they are not attracted to most of the chinese men
