I think HappyExPat gives the best honest answers. He doesn't spew any negativity. And today I actually noticed what his picture is,, made me laugh.

GuilinRaf:

Lol!

I had not paid attention until you pointed it out!!!

And yes, Happy Expat is one of my favorite writers here.

I thought the question is about the writer for eChinacities articles in its Expat Corner section not in this Answers section.

I appreciate the experiences of almost everyone and their willingness to share their experiences. I enjoy the thorough, thought out posts by Happy and EPJohn and Mr Tibbles, and a few others.

I enjoy DaBen, GuilinRaf, Woody, Nevermind, and a few others ability to use humor and snark in sharing their experiences and thoughts. Afterall, you're in China, and if you can't laugh, you're pretty much screwed.

The ones who seem to have nothing but negative things to say are valuable. They help keep things in perspective. A reminder that life isn't going to be all panda bears and rainbows over there.

And I even, on some level, kind of sort of like the ones who give us material to get snarky. Even though they can be maddening and annoying.

Everyone who posts has something to offer, even if it's incorrect, or an answer you don't  agree with... it's all about the learning. It's the different personalities and opposing views that make this group worth while and interesting.

Picking one favorite... impossible.

Ryan123, always gives me a chuckle to read his posts and feel the sweat pouring from his brow.

GuilinRaf:

So, do you think he will turn himself in or will he get picked up?

I wish China had a show like "Cops"...

Don't really know Guilian, it depends, the last thing I would expect him to do is turn himslef in, I would however request that he finds his way to Beijing and solve his problem, if it goes up to a year he is literally screwed. But I have seen people fix their situations by going to the right agency who in turn have the right connections. But, the cost, it seems that no matter how hard I try to explain to people to always be prepared and have at least 50k in the bank, I get a thumbs down for saying. Of course the best way is to abide by the rules but then again with all the corruption in different areas of businesses, you need to prepare yourself even if you are abiding by the rules
