Foreigners only come to China to get drunk and take advantage of the innocent women and effeminate men. They are losers, drug addicts and criminals in their own countries. They are all racists. I know from experience, and am very sorry I was a bad foreigner.
What is the worst thing you have done in China, and are you prepared to apologise for it?
Hey don't throw all foreigners under the bad bus that just is not simply true....you can apologize for your actions good for you, but don't make every foreigner out to be a bad or badly behaved person.
Strange. I don't really know that many of these bad foreign looses. Is it because I don't hang with the teaching crowd I wonder?

Norway is part of Scandinavia. They gave Nobel Peace Prizes to the Dalai Lama and that other guy. Very bad.
Scandinavian:
Few people are as evil as Norwegians. (It's even pretty difficult to spell.) When you walk around the area of Oslo City Hall where the atrocities takes place you can see pure evil running on the otherwise completely clean sidewalks.
Scandinavian:
..you mean "Burzum" right :) not my cup of tea, I prefer tea brewed on arabica beans
nicholasba:
yeah, I've heard that the guy is still composing from behind the bars,...anyway also not really my cup;)
Scandinavian:
he was released in 2009, he made two albums from behind bars.
Completely agree with Scandinavian..In my office there are 4 foreigners(all from Software field)..Two of them married.By god grace None of us have done anything shameful till date
ironman510:
I can't remember anything I did wrong, i try to forget every the next morning. lol
Really? We're bad?, Do we piss on the street? Do we Spit with the power of thunder coming out of our throat? Do we litter and purposely pollute this country? Do we ignore our wives for years in bed after marriage, no we're best at sex, no contest!
We are out going hero's in China! FACT
Traveler:
You do not understand Chinese culture. 5,000 years! You hurt the feelings of the Chinese people.
Scandinavian:
hey, Traveler is learning from 66Saliva, can't really blame him for sub-standard trolling with such a teacher.
Kaiwen:
Silva doesn't troll. He/she just finds a picture on the internet then thinks up a pretty inane, worthless question related to it. One can only assume the purpose being to rack up enough 5 points to accelerate Emperor status.
ironman510:
@Traveler, Oh Sorry if I hurt their feelings. I'll write a sorry letter.
true!!! Foreigners are privileged. Especially if they enter the country illegally they get a free apartment, bills paid by our government, they dont pay pubblic transportations, they can send their children to school for free (government helps in that). Some of them sells drugs and commit various kind of crimes....ops!but this is Italy...i forgot...
nicholasba:
be sure to call them all racist as soon as they don't give you all of your privileges.
nicholasba:
exactly. In that case the list of privileges they enjoy is even longer...
I have never quite worked out if I take advantage of innocent women in China or they take advantage of me. I guess there's a little chicken and egg in there somewhere.
Yep, we all Aliens are sooo bad.
We sell them overpriced French wines, push them against their will to buy our superexpensive BMW and Audi and Ferrari cars. Those poor Chinese. How they can just bear it ? We litter here lot of dump trash from Europe.
And than, suddenly, we come here as a teachers or helping in some other work, and take theirs women as our wifes ... We took their money, their ladies, their every dream... At least, but not last, we teach them English, let they can tell to everyone outside, how bad we foreigners are ...
We beat them on streets, we push them in metro back, we shout "chinese" every time we some asian people. Just as yesterday, waiting for metro, and in the line was young couple, front of me, with lovely babyboy, in several motnh age. Really lovely one, he watched me and was quite interested, and we smiled to each other and made some face trolling. hey, than baba noticed this and he pointed with finger to meand said "laowai" ... hmm , yeah, so strange we are.
nicholasba:
well, thats the reason why usually i dont really look more than 2 seconds to chinese kids. Such a remark would have followed my remark to that idiot. That's quite rude...
Oh, by the way, I always hold the lift doors if people are walking towards it, the other day I helped an old lady carry her shopping trolley down a broken escalator (I sure hope she was going that way, she looked a little uncomfortable with tall white dude moving her stuff) when I eat in restaurants and my chopsticks f-up I always pick up and put it on the plate under my bowl.
And I have never, and I do mean NEVER, left a public bathroom in worse shape than it was prior to me using it
Sowwy :(
Traveler:
Saying sorry is an admission of guilt.
Now you must pay compensation. How much money do you have?
ironman510:
@Traveler, will it be tax deductible? Should I also put this on my W2 form after I file my taxes this coming April? Under the guilty payment section, how much do we owe?
Mr_spoon:
I can't take the guilt anymore! I'll talk!
I breathed the glorious Chinese oxygen (that they totally invented) with my filthy foreign pig lungs!
Here, take all of my 4 yuans! I don't deserve them!
I went to a market and thought about liberating the chickens once.
It's genetic. We inherited it from our fore bearers, who also raped, pillaged, and plundered China and hurt the feelings of Chinese people in previous generations. And thus, history repeats itself.
Ok I will give the following apologies
for saying that China needs to find a plumber who knows what they are doing
for pushing my way to the front of the que like a local
for not paying tourist prices for basic essentials

for calling you a dirty name in Chinese to your face in front of your jerk friends

for laughing my ass off when you rode your bike into the back of a truck while staring at me
for tipping water out my 3 floor window while you were pissing on the wall
for whistling out side the child care center
for drinking to much and bragging how mine was much bigger than yours and then producing the supporting evidence
for putting on a crash helmet when riding in your car
for all the pretty Girls who like Foreigners
for showing you that you do not speak English as well as you think
for telling you how f@cked up your behave is .towards Children ,old people , women , religion , foreigners, animals disabled ,and everything else in the universe
for not playing your face games
for knowing the answers you have not a clue about
for knowing I can leave and you are stuck in China forever
for having a life outside of your perceived normal world
and in general for going there in the first place
There is not enough room here for apologies 50 to 10000000
I must confess , my behavior is appalling . Not only did i poop in a restaurant in front of everyone eating , i also spit everywhere i go . I snot all over the place , because i just KNOW everyone wants to see what was in my nose . i pick my boogers and eat them too ,I throw my litter any where i please , not giving a shit about the country i " love " . I stare at foreigners , watch people who are in need of help ( fight , car accident , emergency ) and film then on my mobile phone instead of helping , along with my other zombie like countrymen . I get in the elevator before you can get off , trapping you in the elevator and taking you back down to the 1st floor ( im clever) . I teach my only son that he is the center of the universe , thus bringing him up to be an idiot like myself . ....
oh hang on a minute ... That isn't me .
12 people don't get sarcsm.
i am guilty of saying china smells like a sewer. it actually smells like the public toilet in a 3rd tier city. i'm sorry.
TedDBayer:
Thats being nice. I went to Thailand, the country smells of a sweet spice that I can't place. I arrived in Beijing and the air smelled like someone was deep frying rotted garbage.
Traveler:
The reaction to sarcasm on this board is always good for a chuckle
I still occasionally get angry when people cut the cue.
Yes, I do apologize.
Do I get a prize? I want a prize.
I would be guilty of slowly and patiently explaining to students the obvious things they should know about studying and living in a foreign country. Unfortunately not all my colleagues appreciated me doing the job i was paid to do. I won't do it again - i promise
Traveler:
Foreign countries schools must adapt to meet the demands of their Chinese masters.
Maybe the reason is as simple as we are treated good in china,,,,,we think a bit cockyish and we are above all laws in china,,,,,,,that is what i do personally feel sometimes but not to the level of miss behaving though,,,

I don't think were all that bad, I have been here for years and most of the foreigners I know including teachers are fairly respectful. Of course we have the occasional gripe but that's normal for anyone.
I don't enjoy being called a laowai in the street everyday.
I don't like taking the subway.
I don't drink or sell drugs.
I work hard and 80% of my salary goes back into the economy.
I dislike being judged on a daily basis by anyone who deems it fit and tarred with the same brush as the worst of the worst.
There are a billion Chinese people in the west today, who are going about their business and some are even sending money back to China to help their families.
Are they being judged and insulted by the majority ?
Live and let live, drop the racist undertones and look forward to whatever may come of this.
What we need to be doing instead of moaning ,is setting a good example so that people see you for what you are. If you can't be bothered then don't.
I just try to ignore the negative these days but I will act if I see somebody being unfairly mistreated in the street, I just wish the Chinese would do the same, imagine it's their own daughter being bullied or hit and that others would show the same decorum.
They seem to care a lot when a 'laowai' gets into trouble and don't mind having a say.
Why not consider the actions of a small minority of Chinese people who are drunk on the streets , promiscuous and abusive to weaker people in public ?
My grandfather fought the Japanese in Burma , that was much more recent than the opium wars and should account for something towards the behaviour of 'laowai' who helped save millions of lives in China and paved the way for communications , infrastructure and market domination.
We are your customers China, where do you think all the billions are coming from
It's free to be positive and it doesn't cost 1 mao to smile and say hello like you did 10 years ago.
sorrel:
i agree with what you say, but it can be quite a challenge when confronted with people who judge you on the basis of what another foreigner in another city has done. I take people as I find them and I would like to be judged on my behaviour.
I sincerely hope nobody is offended by my post, I mean no disrespect to anybody of any nation.
We have a lot to learn from each other so we just need to be a little more amicable when it comes to it.
The population of London is now more than half none English and we seem to be dealing with it pretty well.
Yes Derek, I think we English invented sarcasm right ?
What I'm saying is , try to be positive in the moment, forget what somebody did or said, it will only mount up and get worse.
Nobody is perfect .
Your right Soren, it is tough sometimes,I've almost lost it a couple of times and I did render a guy unconscious after I stopped him beating up one of my female students. I wasn't proud of it or happy with what I did but his nose just got too close to my forehead. ( i saw the guy later and he swore never to harm a female again !) I gave him a hug out of sympathy and perhaps to regain my lost kaarma and all was well. I was treated like a hero for a couple of days but I really did not feel good about what I did. That another human could cause you to act in a violent manner is beyond reproach.
the last couple of times I just got in the middle of them and simply said 'NO'.
Keep your sanity, somehow tweak your internal voice into saying 'keep positive' keep it together and you will be fine.
Judge nothing before you judge yourself.
If us "waiguorren" were not so badly behaved, the Chinese couldn't copy it and improve on our badness. Another favour that the west has done for China.
I'm a bad guy too and I also plea guilty for:
- having slightly raised my voice and probably, but I can't swear on it, used some MINOR bad words toward the exit parking gate keeper that didn't want to let me out because that 1 day in 3 years of parking in the same place I've not being given an entry card neither by the card dispenser at the entry gate nor by the gate keeper who instead urged me to get in. Exit gate keeper who kept me 45 minutes under the mid-July sun at 2:00pm while calling every other guard + management MANAGER despite I offered to pay for the whole day fee. Just for, at the end, let me out on his MANAGER order, after paying a whopping 3 kwai for the parking.
- having slightly raised my voice and probably, but I can't swear on it, used some MINOR bad words toward my lovely neighbors, whom decided that screaming and yelling well after midnight while playing mahjong with windows open and chatting while lying on the fence under my bedroom balcony for 20 days in a row, everyday well past midnight for them was "not yet time to sleep", not to mention my 7 months old light sleeping daughter.
- not understanding why people going into a parking with limited space for maneuvering cannot let first people out.
- reminding people that step on the elevator with a lighten up cigarette that this behavior can harm their health.
- not understanding that my colleague's Mazda 3 cannot accelerate as fast as my 1.6L van because otherwise the engine will become noisy.
- not understanding that my female colleague may better like a Maserati Quattroporte instead of a Porsche 911 because this last one is too wide so not suitable for city traffic.
- having refused to make any discount after the young couple who bought my apartment had to pay an extra fee (couple thousand rmb) during the property transfer process because the seller is a foreigner, while we had agreed clearly upon a NET price no matter what.
- having asked the decoration company doing my apartment to stick the paper scotch I bought them on the glasses and mirrors BEFORE doing the silicon sealant.
- having made my wife discovering that the outside world is not as bad as she thought.
- having had the chance of breathing pure air, swam in crystal clear waters, enjoyed blue skies and had excellent and safe food for 30 years, before deciding to come to China.
- having slightly raised my voice and probably, but I can't swear on it, used some MINOR bad words toward a Chinese woman in the Venice airport who, by mistake induced by the foreign words on the garbage bin, threw her rubbish outside without even trying to reach for it.
- having occasionally had doubts about the quality of life in China.
- having sometimes mistrusted the doctors at the public hospitals.
- having sometimes mistrusted the doctors at the private hospitals too.
- now forgetting to add the sequel of this list.
Why are foreigners so badly behaved? For the same reason you're always bitching and whining like a little girl; because they have small testicles.
