Q: Why are most non teaching jobs on this website for locals?

I always thought here are mostly foreigners around but yet i found that 99% of the non teaching jobs are for locals. I really doubt that many locals are looking in the job section here Oups

Also not many locals seems to be around here at the forum.

So in the end i find this website sucks to look for non teaching jobs as a foreigner :/

While I do agree that this site sucks nowdays, I do disagree with the reason stated.  Non teaching jobs are mostly for locals because that  is exactly what the Chinese Labor Bureau has set in their work related regulations.  Available jobs must be handled out by giving preference to locals.  Only when no locals can do the job (like teaching English) is that they are allowed to hire foreigners

And eChinacities is not to be blamed for that.

i just mean why do you put jobs for locals on a website were not many locals are around. not like the fact that there are way more popular websites for posting a joboffer for locals

Maybe they want more 'locals' to visit this site.

Happy is correct. And Dom you are wrong, many Chinese do use this site. Also, how do you snag a Chinese that is well versed in English? Advertise in English on a site for Expats that many Chinese use to practice their English. And really who are we to tell a company where to advertise their job opening? Who says they don't also advertise elsewhere?

Because they only cost 2000 or 3000 a month, where as a computer tech like myself would cost 18,000 a month. That sums it up.
