Q: Why Did The Foreigner Cross The Road?

One of the most dangerous things we do every day is crossing the road.
For me coming from a country that drives on the Correct side of the road (left hand side)
For the first couple of day I find I take that little extra care to look to the left first and to try and get my timing right.

Crossing with the herd is a good idea but is no guarantee of not being cleaned up by something. You know  Like those nature programs that show wildebeest crossing a crocodile infested river
And have you tried crossing with your partner while they have an open umbrella?
Ffs it's hard enough without that thing blocking your veiw of the truck bearing down on you ...don't worry you won't know what hit you ....but you can have a good guess.

Oh and just as you arrive  at  the other side and think your safe...some asshole riding their Ebike on the " footpath "  tries to turn you into a handle bar ornament .
However it has it's positives to.
All conversation stops when crossing so if you don't want to talk to someone..cross the road at every opportunity and if something did happen to them during tje crossing remember it's natural selection...and plausible deniability.
Thanks for reading
As usual give it a Thumbs up if you liked it or a thumbs down if you didn't.
You don't have to comment just give me an idea if these post should keep coming.
Cheers Phil

Yep, it's good to have people posting topics that encourage discussion again. A job well done mate.

I know people had issues with her but I miss Vicki's posts. Lol some were just so unbelievably ... well anyway they got people talking, sometimes abusing each other and offered an insight into the mindset of a 20 something Chinese girl.

Why did the foreign devil cross the road?

A) To avoid talking to anyone
B) To avoid being injured by a car or ebike on the sidewalk.

well,,,  just hope all newbies in China wake up real quick to the idea of there are not really any 'road rules',,,  so, like the little Safety Films we watched in Elementary School said when u were a kid,,,  'look both ways before u cross the street'.  dat sh*t be true here,, haha,, and don't be too surprised when u see a car driving down the sidewalk,,,  cuz long enuf here u will see it a lot...

Stiggs:

I was traveling around with a few friends once and we stayed in a hotel across the road from a train station.

I'll always remember me and my mate sitting in the hotel room window chairs, drinking (probably fake) Russian vodka - I think it was called AK47 -  and watching what I could swear is that exact same view. Probably not though, there must be thousands just like it all across China..

It was both hilarious and astounding at the same time. There was a huge traffic clusterfark and everytime a gap opened up and you thought traffic would start flowing again some idiot in a taxi would feel the need to move forward to block it up again even though it wasn't going to get him anywhere, it just snarled the traffic up more.

yeah,,,  they love that ol' physics saying that any unoccupied space will get occupied.... or something like that,,  haha, , I forget...

It got me to thinking that in some ways the Best drivers are the Chinese.   Can u imagine the average US driver getting on the road in a Tier 3?  They would be in an accident in a matter of minutes,,,  haha.....

Haha I don't know much about the average American driver but the average Kiwi driver driver would probably be road raging all over the place and getting arrested for assault.
