Sorry in advance, this question is mostly related to bigger cities.
Anyway, in Beijing, March sees the Capital M literary festival, the bookworm festival, the Restaurant Week and Jue Festival. I don't get it. There's so much going on during these weeks that I can't really make it to as many events as I'd like to. Why do these organizers all schedule their events at the same time each year? Wouldn't it make a crap load more sense to space these events out a bit?

I believe it has something to do with the weather....oh yeah wait the weather is horrible all year round. Besides that it could be that March is some type of special month of the year and that's the reason why there are so many festivals/events going on at that time.
Maybe because it is the first 'whole' month of the year when things are back to business after the Lunar New Year holiday.
Just my geuss.
