i haven't seen charity hospitals or schools here ..
We believe the "greatest communist party".
The "Party" will take care of us, we only need to believe the "Greatest party", didn’t u see by the Party founded festival, all the signs on the street and public place?
Everything will be fine, why do we need charity.
stan118:
well this party you love so much doesnt take care of everyone in china and is too concerned about building a big city and building relationships with other countries
The socialist mentality places social justice squarely on the shoulders of Government.
1. there are a part of chinese ppl believe in charity . 2 the main reason is we chinese dont have the same system as other countries, we are different from european, middle east, african and even different from some other asain countries, or even inland china system is different from tai wan .. how to say, your question is like to ask : why most ppl in germany speak german and why most ppl in china speak manadarin?---because they are all different , and can not compare.---only personal opinion. tks
i know chineese peoples they believe only work hard to eat that goood and make new happy china i no believe charity too
I have to say it's not the truth. Most chinese believe in charity.Since the Guomeimei scandal happened, people have lost faith in the chinese biggest charity organization(Chinese Red Cross). And they tend to believe in non governmental charity organization.
They do have charity. They had a ton before Qing, but then they became the charity cases. Now that they are starting to make money again, it's a good excuse for the very rich Chinese to socialize and have banquets, something they can never get enough of.
And don't pretend the west is any different. In Canada, most charity fundraising happens on Calgary golf courses.
There have been scandals lately about where charity money goes, and that's not just the Red Cross. I also heard about relief funds for the earthquake being misused, officials taking the money and pocketing it. I mean, if I lived in a country where I had no idea if my money actually helped anyone or not, I wouldn't donate. There are people in this world who will scam anyone they can, even their own mother.
They do believe, there are just too many fraud beggars on the street makes them sceptical.
Chinese donate to charity all the time. They may not give to street people, but I don't either. Too many are fakers or part of gangs.
The only charity that the americans believe in is tax deductable.

Sorry old chap, I forgot my place. Very charitable of you to call me a turd.

Oh look our North American cousins displaying their avid belief in free speech again.
Charity begins in the home, so don't worry, give China a few more years to build it's economy and you'll start seeing teenagers in yellow bibs wandering around asking you to give one yuan a month to the starving children of Africa or to help some charity hospital or other, I guarantee it.
scandals and embezzlement, you have no idea where the money goes, in england im sure you can track where the money went and what it was used for, ow and most importantly what percentage goes to charity
Scandals involving people taking the money and spending it by themselves. If I give money as a donation, I would like to know it has been used in a proper way. I want to donate clothes and shoes for the migrant workers, I hope no one will sell them and make a personal profit.
