I mean where are all the delicious hotdogs when you need them. I usually go to DQ to get my filling of delicious hotdogs. Chilly Cheese Hotdogs are my Favorite! They are so scrumptious and deliciouso....anybody know what the reason behind them not having any concession stands on the roads selling those delicious hotdogs?
I would guess for the same reason they make popcorn sweet.....
Xpat.John:
You know... Answering his pitiful pleas for attention only encourages him.
GuilinRaf:
I know. I just happen to have a weak spot for hotdogs and have often wonered the same thing....
GuilinRaf:
Actually, being in Beijing I can find them okay, but thanks for the tip!
I have been wanting to go visit Xiamen again, went there a couple of years ago and had a great time!
Yanno, I'm not sure I'd eat hot dogs in China. What if they take it literally and have ground up and tubed pekingese meat?
Just saying...
We have the best dogs in upstate ny. Maybe I should import and start a vendor business.
HugAPanda:
pogger lost all possibility of speedo sexiness. GR is the winner! :P
HugAPanda:
Hmm... I think I should hold a contest. Both of you... speedo up, pose it like ya mean it, snap a shot and send me a picture. Anyone else can join, but I do the judging!
The email to submit your entry... PandasSexySpeedoContest@rawrbaby.com
DaBen:
I wanna join... but I don't have a speedo (here). So I'm just going to draw one on with a magic marker.
HugAPanda:
Ohhh I think we have a winner!!!!! Video it... and add a ful 360 please... slowly!
philbravery:
so does that mean that Greyhound would be the top of the scale in fast food ?
HugAPanda:
painted on?
hmm.. video - pose - turn a 360 very slowly, submit ;)
woohoo man meat!!!
I still feel like spitting and adjusting.
Quinn68:
Agreed HugAPanda. I'm from Albany and the local hot dog's are the one thing I miss the most. I used to eat those every day for lunch. Now, noodles or rice. Sigh...
danielmarino:
In this province (heilongjiang) they did take it literally. There are many specialized cat and dog meat restaurants here as well as some "hot dog" stands in the street where they swear it is dog meat, they not only don't deny it but actually confirm it.
HugAPanda:
Yeah, I think Im sticking with a lot of tofu while Im there
HugAPanda:
Quinn, do you have Zweigels and Hoffmans in Albany? The hoffmans white hots are the best!
What are you talking about? A lot of places sell "hot dogs" here. Maybe they are not the same, but no kind of meat here is the same. I personally don't find them to be very tasty, but there are certain types of hot dogs I didn't like back home either. You have to have one of those rotating grill things to make the hot dogs, which requires electricity, that's why street side vendors don't have them. Would you really risk buying one from a vendor who just keeps it warm after cooking it in the morning? I'm sure the quality is bad enough, I don't think anyone would want a less than hot hot dog.
Jíliú.hé:
They boil them in water and let them sit or grill and keep them in warmers that is how most if not all stands and carts work. Plus most hot dogs are pre cooked and you are just waiting for there flavor to be activated.
Oh No not another question from mattaya, I wait all day to see what exciting profoundly deep thoughts run through your head. I'm so glad you brought this up. I think everyone in China should eat weiners and hot dogs. I hope you really like eating weiners and hot dogs. I don't think they make a good weiner in China. They are all sweet and so are most buns..
If you knew how the weiners were made in North America, you would not eat them. Everything is in them beaks, feet, running shoes, underwear and they have to be dyed to make them red,, O yeah i quess you would like weiners because you're not from North America and Chinese love all that crap, mmmm think that white rubber is from a running shoe or waist band,,, now imagine the Chinese trying to copy the process.
Because they would have to re-outfit the tricycles.
o yeah great, i luve hot dog, cold dog not bad, wish they sell dog every were. Maybe yo open hot dog stand, then two, before long we call you The Weiner King.
Because they'd rather sell that weird shiny pink stuff on a stick.
They could be genuine hot 'dogs'.
Remember how Hot Dogs are mostly enjoyed by Americans, and that we're literally on the other side of the earth, and that they both have completely different tastes?
Don't get me wrong, I like Hot Dogs (too bad they're impossible to find in Europe), but you can't complain that an Asian country that just opened to the world isn't selling Hot Dogs everywhere, building a lot of baseball stadiums, and drawing eagles everywhere while shooting handguns in the air (I'm kidding, don't worry).
BUT, if you're interested in some addresses, here are some:
-Nanluoguxiang has (or used to, haven't been there for a while) a little hot dog stand, where they also sell Takoyaki (try those as well, delicious). Those are ok.
-Sanlitun's Village recently opened a hot dog "restaurant", in front of the Apple store. They're good, but a little expensive in my opinion.
-Wudaokou has a tiny hot dog shop behind the subway station, next to Pyro Pizza and a coffee shop, they're cheap and tasty.
-They sell expensive but kinda good hot dogs in front of Vics (worker's stadium, gongti) late at nights, for the party goers.
-Chaoyangmen's Raffle City has a Nathan's (best fast food I've ever tasted), where they sell really good hot dogs. And they deliver if you live nearby.
-And, last year, there were 2 Australian-Chinese dudes who had a hot dog cartwheel in Sanlitun, behind the 3.3, at night, and those were fucking good. So, you know, pray for them to come back.
There are DQ's all over the place as well now, but you already know that.
I know a lot more places, and I'll update my post if I can remember.
TedDBayer:
He's not really interested in anything other than posting pointless questions and he don't care about no hotdog.I thought the weiner came from Germany?
Mr_spoon:
When I say Hot Dog, I mean the sausage stuck in bread, not just the sausage.
brisguy:
Also Nathan's only seen two of them in Beijing one at Bagou (end of line 10) in the shopping centre directly above it and the other in Solana in Chaoyang
Anybody remember Sabrett's in NYC ? that German mustard just was the best !!!
gosh, I'm hungry now,,, And a proper Slice from the corner anywhere in Brooklyn...
Because this is China and not the US?? weird question. Why dont they have hotdog stands in the UK? O yeah, cos its not the US (or any other country that has the same hot dog culture)
the same reason they dont sell bowls of 凉皮 on the streets in the US
What is wrong with you why would you eat a hot dog made in china. I try to only eat kosher franks in the U.S and I still feel weird. Plus I dought chinese venders have anywere nere the same ethics.
Do not eat hot dogs in asia they could be dogs or worst cats.
Jnusb416:
The kind of meat is probably the least of your worries in this case.
I think that hot dogs won't have any worse meat in them than meatballs and hongbao. I'm on vacation in Beijing right now and the other day I had some baozi for dinner. The next day I walked past that restaurant in the morning and I saw a big pot of pig intestines boiling in water. So now I know where the meat for those delicious bao came from...
where can i find a dodger dog in xi an
brisguy:
Just go to Dairy Queen Xian has a few around the place they sell hot dogs for 8rmb to 12rmb
Slightly off-topic, but all these 'what's in the meat' comments make me amazingly glad I live in Xinjiang and eat almost exclusively in halal restaurants; I'm banking on the fact that my Islamic fellow-patrons have as little inclination to eat dogs and cats as I do!
Simple there are no REAL sausages in China like the USA and Germany England have good ones also........trust sausages in China you are joking arn't you.....you need to watch more television about places that produce food you wuls be shocked at least the health dept is doing something.
