For about a week I have been unable to get any money from the ATM from my USA bank account.
It gets to the point where I choose how much money to withdraw and then I get:
Bank of China: Invalid Pin
China Construction Bank: Unable to verify PIN.
This has never happened before.
I have a 4 digit pin and the Chinese ATMs traditionally take only 6 digit pins..
So people like me have *ALWAYS* in the past put 00 after our 4 digit pin and it has always worked. In that past, if I put only a 4 digit pin, it wouldn't work.
NOT ANYMORE! We now need to put in *ONLY* the 4 digit pin and if you add 00 it *WILL* fail!
This is a heads-up to everybody! Be careful and don't let the ATM machine eat your cards!

Thanks I was always wondering what the other 2 digits were as I had only used 4. I know here they did want you to put a 6 digit pin number. Good news but I hardly use that card anymore since I switched to one of the banks here. Still good to know. So I guess you do learn something new everyday!
