If you are looking for basic accident insurance that includes paying for hospitalization after an accident, then you can get this for a couple of hundreds per year at Ping An, China Life, China Taiping etc.

The same companies can also help you with serious illness coverage, but the price will be a lot higher, this depends on your age and such factors. (and how much treatment you want to be able to afford) As a UK citizen, is going back for treatment an option? Naturally people with a heart attack cannot afford the time the flight takes.

You need to shop around if you want to buy it locally. Most offer plans that runs for 10 or 20 years, where at the end you get your money back if you're still alive. But then you need to continue paying for the duration of the plan.

Scandinavian:

I have accident insurance from Ping An and serious illness from Taiping. Products are pretty similar, it's mainly for the "investment" part that Taiping was chosen for the serious illness. If I ever get anything like cancer, I will cash the insurance sum but go back home for free treatment and use the money for Belgium beers or whatever would seem like necessities during times of great maladies.

What's your budget? If you don't mind paying over 10,000 RMB per year then you could check out pacific prime.

Thank you...I will check it out.
