Q: Anyone apply for L visa to China lately and got short changed?

I just applied for another 1 year , 90 day L visa. The Embassy had my passport for 2 weeks, usually 3 days. I got an S2 for family members 35 day stay. I don't have family in China. Are they getting stingy with staying?

Maybe they suspect that people that continuously renew one year multi entry tourist visas when they don't even have family members here are up to things that may not be in accordance with the conditions of the visa. Just a suggestion like! angel

Kaiwen:

That might be so but, given the much publicized visa crackdown this year, do you not think that China Immigration and the consulates will start to get suspicious of any foreigner living long term in China on a "L" visa? They will no doubt start to question how you support yourself and, if you have no employment, whether the money that you do support yourself with is legitimate. In actual fact, I am sure the same would happen in any other sovereign nation.

I have more than enough money to support myself, and it goes farther in China.
