The rollout is slow here in NZ, I think they're still jabbing the old people, those with health conditions etc.

I think they're saying everyone who wants one will have it by the end of the year.

If you and yours aren't all vaccinated yet, you better do so ASAP.

It turns out that, according to this highly credible source below, some of us here - not looking at anyone in particular but y'all know who you are  -   might be toxic superspreaders.

Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine antibodies begin to fade 6 months after 2nd dose – study

Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine antibodies begin to fade 6 months after 2nd dose – study

The antibody protection generated in recipients of the Sinovac Biotech Covid-19 vaccine begins to fall 6 months after the second dose has been administered, according to a new study from China-based researchers.

Jul 26, 2021 17:15

A research paper published on Sunday found that only 16.9% of people who had received two doses of the Chinese vaccine two weeks apart, and 35.2% of those who had both jabs four weeks apart, still had antibodies above the neutralizing threshold six months after that second vaccine.

While the paper has not yet been peer-reviewed, researchers at the disease control authority in China’s Jiangsu province examined blood samples of healthy adults aged between 18 and 59 to see the lasting impact of having two doses of the Sinovac jab.

As well as exploring the effect of two doses, scientists investigated the benefits of a third booster shot, finding it had a strong positive impact on increasing the level of antibodies within recipients if given six months after the second jab. When people had that booster jab, researchers saw a three- to five-fold increase in their level of neutralizing antibodies, indicating the additional shot could help to maintain protection against the virus.

Delta Variant Causes One Of China's Worst Outbreaks Since Wuhan

FRIDAY, JUL 30, 2021 - 10:00 PM

The delta variant has finally taken hold in China.

China, the original home of the coronavirus which first emerged in Wuhan in late 2019, has reported its biggest outbreak of the delta variant yet after an outbreak centered around the city of Nanjing has spread across the country. As of Friday, Chinese officials have counted 206 new cases since July 20, with most of them occurring around Nanjing, although they have spread to 13 cities in at least 5 difference provinces.

State media reported that a couple of the workers tested positive after failing to follow rigorous hygiene guidelines. So far, 7 people infected in the latest outbreak are in critical condition, not surprising considering that delta is believed to be more virulent and infectious, causing more severe infections in younger patients.

It's the first outbreak in China since last month's outbreak in Dongguan. Officials responded to that outbreak in the usual way - by locking down part of the city and ordering mandatory testing.

Beijing has a set strategy for handling COVID cases in keeping with the "zero tolerance" approach, something China's public health authorities share with Australia, which is struggling with the economic fallout from its latest round of lockdowns. It typically involves new lockdown measures (or at least some kind of temporary restrictions on movement) while millions in the area are tested. Officials reportedly plan to test all of the 9MM+ people in Nanjing.

Nanjing is situated in China's Jiangsu province, where thousands are currently locked down. Sichuan and Liaoning provinces have also reported cases.

The latest outbreak is also raising more questions about the efficacy of China's Sinovac vaccine, which is facing criticism for its low efficacy. Several Asian countries have opted to ditch the Sinovac jab despite its favorable price.

And now that delta has finally taken hold in China, the variant will put these vaccines to the test, just like it did in the UK, Continental Europe, India and - of course, - the US.

But the governments deceived the public by saying to protect yourself by wearing a useless mask? Can't go into a supermarket without a mask but you can get the virus or give the virus simply by touching something and touching yourself or kids! No, preventing the spread could have been enforced properly but they choose deception, proving that they want to scare people with covid.

Fact is that the vaccine will be the true killer. The world is overpopulated and the vaccine is the answer. Tested years ago when 50,000 people a year just fell over Dead w ith NO SYMPTOMS or cause of death whatsoever! The dormant vaccine will wake up in 1.5-3 years, perhaps activated by another medicine. Then death. People around the world have investigated the news stories to be false. X # people died in XXX BUT NO DEATHS

The truth gets a ban and while others talk non constructive nonsense, got it. Joke but get the vaccine and if no one is dead in 3 years then comment. Most sources above are the news Co's, which are owned by the same groups that create the covid. I'm in China and the news here about the US has never happened! A friend called me from another state here and said the news said there was a huge outbreak in my city while my city tested every person and not 1 case!

icnif77:

No. we'll post every single reply at this thread (from the same user) as a new reply. That looks very constructive, since you didn't realize you can use Comment future instead.

I have taken vaccines that cured a disease and no one has it anymore, but COVID is a shot, not a vaccine, just like booster flu shots that come around every year, Covid shots will be around forever and they need to be honest and stop calling it a vaccine.

Millions Locked Down As China Battles Worst COVID Outbreak Since Wuhan

MONDAY, AUG 02, 2021 - 07:01 AM

We noted last week that the delta variant has finally arrived in China, causing one of the country's worst outbreaks since the original wave of COVID that spread from Wuhan across China (and world). Well, despite authorities' best efforts, the outbreak appears to have worsened over the weekend, and now officials are reimposing COVID-related restrictions in Beijing for the first time in months as questions about the efficacy of Chinese COVID vaccines multiply.

According to Bloomberg, the outbreak is now the broadest since the original outbreak in late 2019 as cases are being found in 14 of 32 provinces. The fact that delta has spread so widely across China - even if the case numbers, which are likely under-reporting (perhaps dramatically) the true levels of delta penetration, are still relatively low - is alarming government officials.

Getting either one of the Chinese vaccines and thinking it will give you any protection is delusional. Delta will rip through it like butter. I have zero sympathy for those foreigners who choose to get SinoLack and SinoPhail and then get Covid. All of them had the choice to go back to their home countries to get a significantly more effective vaccine.

Very true. Yet, many Americans still believe that Covid will be successfully eradicated and life will go on as before. For the rest of our lives, for those who care, we will have to get both a flu shot and a Covid shot. Many people will forget to get their annual boosters and die. It is just a cold hard fact of life now, and the only way to live with it is to accept it and take preventative measures including shots. Personally, at least when I am in the US, I will continue to wear a mask inside public places. I don't trust that other Americans are being honest about their vaccination status. I have no reason to. This is what our country has come to.

China Suspends Travel, Ramps Up Testing As Delta Outbreak Hits Wuhanteaser image

China reported 71 new COVID cases from local transmission on Wednesday, more than half of them in coastal Jiangsu province near the epicenter of Nanjing...

THU AUG 5, AT 12:00 AM

Earlier this week, another COVID-19 hotspot was identified in the city of Zhangjiajie, near a scenic area famous for sandstone cliffs, caves, forests and waterfalls.

Despite only confirming some 19 cases over the past week, the city ordered residential communities sealed Sunday, preventing people from leaving their homes. In a subsequent order on Tuesday, officials said no residents, and no tourists, would be allowed to leave the city. On Wednesday, the city government's Communist Party disciplinary committee issued a list of local officials who "had a negative impact" on pandemic prevention and control work who would be punished.

Far higher numbers were reported in Yangzhou, a city next to Nanjing, which has recorded 126 cases as of Tuesday. As a result, all cross-city ferry services, water tours were suspended in eastern Yangzhou on Wednesday.

But most alarmingly, the outbreak has already touched Beijing, eve though it's thousands of miles removed from the epicenter in Nanjiang. On Wednesday, 7 cases were confirmed in the capital city, prompting authorities to lock down two residential compounds.

As of this wee, China has doled out more than 1.71 billion vaccine doses to its population of 1.4 billion. Officials say 40% of the population is fully vaccinated, but the outbreak is also raising questions about the efficacy of those vaccines.

Stiggs:

What amazes me is how they can test a whole city - millions of people. NZ only has 5 million people, I think if we tried to test everyone it would take literally years. China does it in a matter of weeks probably.

'cause they must follow ...

I always remember my entries to the Chinese classrooms in Public schools, where whole class was repeating in unison what student, class leader in front was reading aloud ... They're disciplined to follow since the early age.

If Western country wanted to achieve the same is only through the harsh penalties and what not ... all social venues closed for non-vaxed, bars, hotels, parks, job venues and offices. Now, imagine such a restrictions in NZ and whole country (90% at the minimum) would be tested or vax-ed in a heart beat.

Me, I won't go for it unless forced ... I mean, as I look at the traveling and plane tickets everywhere (S. Asia, USA, around EU, Africa) you must be either vaccinated or have negative Cofid test not older than 72-h. Even travelling to S. EU and Africa (Morocco) by the road, you'll have a pain at the return. I guess, they must have a road blocks or sumtin' ... since Schengen has border controls only at the entry and exit of Schengen. In old times, every single country in EU had border pass controls.

If you don't have any of these (vax. or negative test cert.), you're facing 2-weeks of quarantine at arrival (which is too long for 7-days trip) ... and I didn't research, yet how is at the return to EU.

I'm guessing, vax. certificate will be the most handy ... for both ways, out of EU and return.

Yeah a vac cert will be the minimum requirement probably.

We (NZ) had a travel bubble with Australia and Vanuatu which meant we'd be free to travel between these countries with no quarantine etc. Australia is dealing with a delta outbreak though so that bubble popped for now...

Anywhere else it's a mandatory 2 weeks in a quarantine hotel on return if you want to travel.

I see it as being pretty much the same as traffic laws, or not being allowed to light a bonfire when there are fire restrictions because you could easily start a massive fire and destroy people's homes.

The situation is what it is, there's a pandemic that if it got out of control could easily overwhelm the health system, kill lots of people and wreck the economy. It's not an unreasonable thing to tell a society that sometimes, for the safety of everyone, there have to be some rules.

COVID Propaganda Roundup: CNN says, ‘The Carrot Is No Longer Going to Work’ – ‘don’t get the vaccine, you can’t go to the supermarket.’

Your examples aren't right 'cause only maybe 0.01% of the entire population want to lit a bonfire and many more need free access to the supermarkets or pubs.

I got so many traffic tickets while in USA, that I stopped driving the car. I started walking around 1995 and I still don't own a car ... I have never been involved in the traffic accident by my fault in my entire driving career (around 30+ years), but I like to drive fast.

Here in EU, I got a ticket for crossing the road out of the pedestrian crossing (40 EUR). Cops just wouldn't let it go, despite I explained to them I worked in China and Turkey for long time, he he ...

I mean, people have choices at your listed prohibitions and here there are none. You do it or ... That's what it makes the most bothersome ... to me.

Stiggs:

"You do it or... "

I understand that. I got in a fight with a security guard once because he told me I couldn't go through a gate that was open to literally everyone else, I told him to go f*ck himself because of the way he barked at me, not because I couldn't go through the gate. But I don't think you understood my point.

The bonfire thing - it's actually open fires so includes charcoal BBQs, backyard fire pits, campfires, getting drunk around a fire by a river or beach... all very popular here and a part of summer culture. But when a situation arises that makes those things dangerous - extremely dry conditions / strong winds etc - the local councils have to get heavy and tell residents you absolutely can't do that because if you start a fire it'll be near impossible to control. It pisses a few people off (you can't tell me what to do!!) and disappoints a lot more people but the sensible majority recognise there's a good reason for the rule, nobody wants an out of control fire in their backyard and the people who think they should be able to do whatever they want are seen as selfish, reckless dickheads.

Road rules. Back in the day people could probably drive however they wanted, as fast as they wanted and as drunk as they wanted. But then more people got cars and it became a problem, they had to make rules around how you drive your car. A few people think they should be allowed to do whatever they want on the road and if they crash into someone it's not their problem (you can't tell me what to do!) but most people see them as being selfish, reckless dickheads and understand the need for some regulation.

A quite recent example.Smoking. You used to be allowed to smoke anywhere but then we found out it was making everyone in the room sick and causing lung cancer in people around them so smokers were told they had to take it outside. Some people have issues with that (you can't tell me what to do!) but most see the logic in it and think the people who still light up in a restaurant or wherever are being selfish, arrogant dickheads.

Pet dogs. People used to be able to let their dog run around as it wanted without a leash or being fenced in, it was never much of a problem. Then, probably as more and more people moved in towns it got to the point where kids walking home from school were getting mauled by uncontrolled dogs that roamed free, some streets you couldn't walk down without being chased or bitten so the local councils had to step in and tell owners they need to control their dogs, keep it in a fenced yard or if you're walking it have it on a leash. Some people complain (you can't tell me what to do!) but most people understand that you can't have dogs attacking people on the streets and think irresponsible dog owners are selfish dickheads.

These are a few examples off the top of my head but there would be literally hundreds of common sense, everyday rules we take for granted and accept the need for. They all came about because something became a problem that had to be fixed for everyone's benefit  and people who endanger us by deciding they should be able to do whatever they want (you can't tell me what to do!) are usually seen as being selfish, reckless dickheads.

So, when a new situation emerges that can cause major problems on a global scale - let's call it covid19 - and when it's obvious the problem is getting more serious and so most countries decide that we HAVE to do something about this for obvious reasons, there are going to be some new rules. They might be pain in the arse but then so is the covid. If a business tells you that in order to protect their staff and other customers they have to insist everyone wears a mask, it's not unreasonable. Some people choose to throw a tantrum and say they shouldn't have to (you can't tell me what to do!) they're being a selfish, entitled dickhead. It's a mask, not that big a deal.

If a country decides they don't want to let people in unless they're vaccinated, that's their right, they believe they have pretty sound reasons for doing it - they HAVE to do whatever they can to control the covid and protect the population. Some people don't like the idea of a vaccine - that's understandable but given the situation it's something they'll probably have to either accept or else stay at home.

Sumtin' is afoot with this vaccine ... even with the whole Cofid thingy, so I won't volunteer.

Now, as it looks, there won't be too many choices left, either stay home or travel with vax.

I am simpleton and other prohibitions don't bother me much, but at Cofid vaxing I have a problems. Doesn't matter what, I'll go for the easiest solution and in the end I'll most likely get vaxed.

I hear ya, I'm not wild about taking any meds either.

I think they're probably ok though. The people making them have been doing this for a long time and while there have been some bad reactions, when you consider there must have been tens of millions of doses administered by now you'd expect to see a few, just like any other medicine.

I think all those stories about them containing tracking chips, turning people magnetic etc are just stupid.

And, at this point, with the virus mutating into worse versions, if we ever want life to be somewhat normal again the vaccine is probably the only way it'll happen. I think it's worth the chance if only for that reason. I'll take my shot, hopefully it'll save me having to deal with a full strength dose of covid one day, or worse, long covid.

With COVID-19 and the Delta variant spreading worldwide, people have been exploring ways to boost their immune systems. Immunity-boosting supplements, exercising, eating healthy, reducing stress, and quitting smoking are some common strategies to boost the immune system, but now masturbating could be added to the list, according to The Sun.

2-weeks quarantine a MUST for all new arrivals to Peking ...

Chinese public health authorities counted another 62 locally-transmitted cases of COVID on Thursday, most likely caused by the delta variant, which is driving what has been described as China's most widespread outbreak since COVID first broke out of Wuhan more than 18 months ago. Additionally, 54 new asymptomatic cases were reported on Thursday, 32 of which were locally transmitted, but China doesn't count asymptomatic cases.

Authorities have been ordering new lockdowns and travel bans to try and prevent the spread of the variant - in keeping with China's "zero tolerance" approach to containing COVID - and on Thursday, authorities in Beijing ordered travelers headed to the city to quarantine for 14 days, effectively guaranteeing that travelers will stay away until the outbreak has subsided. Residential compounds in certain neighborhoods have also been sealed.

Lol at that 'cure'. I don't know about the covid but I heard it's terrible for the eyesight.

I suppose if you've been locked down for a few weeks it might be a good cure for the boredom.

There were some reports about couples want to kill each other while under the lock-down, so solitary isn't that bad.

In my teaching time in China, I worked only once with the other foreigners in the same city. In Fuk., Xinjiang. I was accompanied by the teachers from USA and Oz, who both left/get fired after some 6-months time and I finished the contract alone in the city. We were employed by the different Primary schools in the city ...

They were both into pills. USA teacher had grocery's bag full of pills in his home. I have never seen such a thing before. I am used to have 6-12 pills the most, when I am under the prescription. He had a bag stuffed with pills ...

Imagine, you have a headache and you ask your buddy for an aspirin. He came back from the other room with the plastic grocery bag full of meds ...

Solitary has never been an issue for me.

At my younger age, I used to have a saying "It's better to be alone than in a bad company.." and I am still into the same ....

Wuhan's 'Bat Lady' Warns Of Coming Covid-19 Mutantsteaser image

Unless someone trips on the freezer plug?

FRI AUG 6, AT 11:40 PM

According to Chinese state media cited by the South China Morning Post, top CCP virologist Shi Zhengli of the Wuhan Institute of Virology - also known as "Bat Lady" - says the virus will continue to mutate, and we must prepare to coexist with it.

"As the number of infected cases has just become too big, this allowed the novel coronavirus more opportunities to mutate and select. New variants will continue to emerge," said Shi, whose lab was working with a US-Funded nonprofit to make bat coronaviruses more infectious to humans.

90% Of Patients Treated With Experimental Israeli COVID Drug Discharged Within 5 Daysteaser image

It just might be the closest thing to a wonder drug that we have seen...but you won't hear anything about it in the US media...

TUE AUG 10, AT 2:40 PM

According to a report in the Jerusalem Post, some 93% of 90 seriously ill coronavirus patients treated in several Greek hospitals with a new drug developed by a team at Tel Aviv’s Sourasky Medical Center were discharged in five days or fewer during the Phase II trial of the new therapeutic.

The Phase II trial confirmed the results of Phase I, which was conducted in Israel last winter. That trial found that 29 out of 30 patients in moderate to serious condition recover within days, while no cases of serious side effects have yet been detected.

"The main goal of this study was to verify that the drug is safe," Prof. Nadir Arber said. "To this day we have not registered any significant side effect in any patient from both groups."

The trial was conducted in Athens because Israel didn't have enough sick patients. The principal investigator was identified as Greece's coronavirus commissioner, Prof. Sotiris Tsiodras.

Arber and his team developed the drug around amolecule that the professor has been studying for 25 years called CD24, which is naturally present in the body.

“This surge is by far the fastest and most aggressive that we've seen. Almost all of our hospitalizations are due to unvaccinated patients developing severe illness,” Dr. Desmar Walkes, Austin-Travis County’s health authority, told reporters last week. “ICU staff are seeing a younger population in our hospitals. Patients in the ICU are sicker and stay in the hospital longer than with prior surges, putting more strain on hospital resources.”

I don't see it any different than in 70-tis when in all movies actors were suddenly all smoking ... 'cause tobacco lobby was behind the subliminal commercial push.

Well, I'm sure pharma companies donating generously to politicians helps ensure they get the lucrative contracts but to be fair, pfizer makes a pretty effective vaccine, as far as rates of effectiveness goes they're probably up there with the best and they're an American company so it would make sense for them to provide the shots for Americans - buy local and all that..

If you're going down the conspiracy theory road though, think of this...

The vaccines are already pre-ordered and sold, every government in the world is desperate to get their people vaxxed and some sort of normality restored so they've made a killing there already and will continue to until every country is vaxxed.

In the mean time, if you're a pharma company what's even better than providing shots to the world? It would probably be selling those shots, people not using them and either ending up in ICU for a few weeks racking up massive bills (meds are expensive) or ending up with long covid and being on expensive medications for months, maybe the rest of your life. Pharma cashes in again. What would be even better is if covid keeps mutating and you get to keep selling booster shots, you cash in again and again....

If I was a lowdown pharma CEO and wanted to keep the gravy train rolling I'd have some politicians I'd been donating generously to for years make it political - tell the masses covid is a hoax, have politicians and online shills telling the herd that their freedom is being threatened in some vague way and if you hate communists and woke hippy vegans you'll say NO to masks and vaccines... and so guarantee the virus continues to spread and mutate and the gravy train keeps rolling for the pharma companies.

No, no conspiracy whatsoever. That's my opinion about meds in generally, i.e. stay far away, if you can ...

While I was making implants in my chew, MD gave me enough painkillers for a 'long sleepy vacation', but as soon as pain ceased, I return all remaining pills to him ...

Pharma everywhere is making a tonne of dough with the latest epidemy, but they won't get my 'yes' vote easily.

Israelis have some breakthrough vaccine, I read yesterday. It's still a trial version, but all Cofid affected were released after 5 days since getting a shot.
