Q: Band-aids: what for?

I noticed lots of my students have various tiny square band-aids on their ears. When I asked, I was told it is for their eye sight. *confused*

I had a student recently get her ears pierced for "eyesight" reasons. I believe that the ear is connected to the eye in Chinese medicine. Rather than getting an actual peircing, these students are probably just getting a new hole punched in the ear to improve eyesight.
