Q: Chances of getting employed.

What are my chances of getting employed since I have 1 year teaching experience and most positions require 2+  years of experience?

if you give more details, such as an answer to the above, then you have earned a better answer.

to many of the recent posts do not appear to be genuine, as they are either 'post and run' or have obvious flaws in their 'story'
thanks

I'd say, yes, you have chances to get ET job with only 1-year of working experience and right age, i.e. not too young as older than 18 - 20 years old.

2-years of working experience was put in place to prevent too young teachers apply for a job in China.

Just send your CV to every ET job vacancy you see and then ... tell us all about.

Good lucky!

Besides 1 year of experience for this position, are there any additional educational requirements? Foreign language proficiency, for example.

it is easy enough to search online for the requirements to work in China.

If you are unable to do this basic task on your own, i suggest that you are not ready to work anywhere, let alone China.

too many people spend time on social media searching about their favourite 'celebrity' yet seem unable to apply the same work when looking for a job.

just saying.

Where did you read about 1-year of ET experience? I know ...

Enter into any search engine:

"Requirements for an English teaching job in China" ... and voila ...

Last word is in French ...  ... and Sorrel is right!

hello, i have a masters in english linguistics, a c2 language qualification, a 160 hour tefl certification from cambridge and 3 years of university teaching experience and i live in pakistan. For some reason, i can't seem to land an interview with schools. Is there something i am missing?

icnif77:

You are a non-native English sneaker, so you don't qualify for a legal English teaching job in China.

See any search engine with: "Requirements for an ET job in China" what will broaden yer horizons on the subject.

One's degrees and what not do not matter. Not even Shehbaz Sharif could land a legal ET job in China.

Only native English passport holders (UK, USA, Canada, Oz-land, New Zealand, S. Africa) qualify ...

How could I forget Ireland ...

A:Have a DD (due diligence, i.e. research!) at China Merchants Bank ... They most likely issue Debit and Credit cards with MC and Visa logo, Union Pay too, to a foreigners working in China. Stop by at any CMB bank and have a chat with the Bank's employees. At my time in China ( 2017 and before ...), I held both CMB accounts and I could withdraw cash from ATM just about anywhere in the world.Cash withdrawal fee was a killer thou, if I remember correctly ...I opened few threads here at the time I discovered CMB and all benefits bank was offering to a laowai working in China. Here's one thread:https://answers.echinacities.com/question/laowai-friendly-bank-china -- icnif77
