Q: How do you get to go on a tv show in China?
How do the foreigners on If You Are The One and other variety/entertainmen shows get tto appear on tv?

Keep a eye on the jobs page here as they often advertise there for foreigners
however if you want to make the evening news
I'm sure we could come up with something

Probably speaking fluent Chinese and having a good appearance will enhance your chances but I agree with philbravery, check the job posts. They are always looking for some foreigners to appear on T.V. I have appeared on television but that was awhile ago. It was a comedy show and I had to play bagpipes for it. It was fun. Do not know if I would do it again though. Good luck!

Man, that was a rough read Redaria....lay off the beer for awhile would ya! Thanks! As far as getting invited to a t.v. show there could be a couple of possibilities.
1. you are a foreigner and you have a successful business in China and they want to feature you and talk about your business.
2. You speak Chinese really well and you are invited to take on a role and speak Chinese. You could call it acting.
3. You are famous and popular and you just came to China.
4. You just get lucky someone invites you because they need a certain amout of foreigners in the program.
5. You join the chinese dating show. This is a bit tricky here because you need to be able to know how to speak and understand the chinese language.
