IF you can get a z visa and IF you can get into the country you'll be laughing.
There are anecdotal tales of some managing it but among my friends, none of us has actually met a FOB Tim since the couf hit.
I wish you luck.
P. S. International schools pay well and have short hours and long holidays, not to mention buffet lunches.

International schools in China will look favourable to this Englich syntax:
"I am with 54 years perhaps too old to apply for a teaching job in China?"
IMO, of horse ...
Sandnose:
Go right to the source And ask the horse He'll give you the answer that you'll endorse He's always on a steady course
icnif77:
They are very similar: 'off horse' and 'of course' ...
Phonetically, there is only one letter difference.
I first hear and after that 'see' the letters. That might be unnatural to the most regulars.
Sandnose:
A horse is a horse Of course of course And no one can talk to a horse, Of course That is, of course Unless the horse Is the famous Mister Ed!
Oh, a horse is a horse Of course, of course And this one'll talk 'til his voice is hoarse You never heard of a talking horse?
icnif77:
In Chinese. I've always mixed 'imbi', 'neubi' und 'shabi' ... at the bank, holding 'MaoTse-tung' note, trying to get coins for the bus. I was successful only at my third attempt.
icnif77:
She replied twice with 'mayo' ... , so in her Chinese banking world, leader on 10 Rmb note wasn't either 'awesome' or 'loser' ....
Once, I boarded the bus with 'imbi', I had happily thought in my head:
" ... my Chinese pronunciation is a blast ...".
Non-native life is challenging however you turn ...
60-years old is a limit for an employment in China and elsewhere around the world.
Here, knock yourself out:
Good lucky!
As a 53 year old, I can attest to your ability to find work in China as a teacher. In fact, I know someone who is into their 60's that is still teaching, with some assistance from the school that honors and respects his contributions to the school. The biggest hurdle for you is to get into the country (if you are not). There is a large demand for teachers since there is a shortage of them currently.
I'm 57. Been with the same school for four years and will be here for at least two more years. The money is good and the work is easy. My advice is to apply at schools in the tier 2 and 3 cities. Too much younger and cheaper competition in the tier 1 cities.

You haven't reach the retire age limit, so u can easily get a teaching job not only in China but the world at large. I put it to u that u are better for a teacher than some young vibrant youths.
