No, it is not common at all, maybe because to my knowledge Chinese Banks do not accept two or more names when opening an account, nor they will issue two debit (or ATM) cards to one account

Happy is right. Joint bank accounts do not exist in China.

However, as a spouse, you are entitled to get a debit/credit card associated to your spouse account. At least some banks propose this service. My wife could apply for a credit card for me as a spouse and it would be link to her bank account.
