I have a flight early morning at Beijing airport and don't feel like waking up early and getting into rush hour traffic. Is it possible to just register my luggage 5 hours in advance, pass security and go rest inside?

I truly do not recall the number of hours in advance, but somehow I sort of remember 3 hours only, but I could be wrong, when I did it was many years ago.
I have seen many persons sleeping on seats at many airports, with legs over luggage to avoid theft.
And yes, depending on hours in advance, you can do it.
Happy is right. Check-in starts 3 hours before the scheduled departure time. You can arrive at the airport earlier, but you'll still need to take care of your luggage until check-in begins.
Yes, I do believe I saw some people who (it appeared to me) to have been passed out 'camping' in seats.
But here is a cool (if not a little pricey) suggestion. They have those awesome little 'nap boxes'. I don't know what the name is. But you will see these rows of what kind of look like 'Kiosks'. You could almost mistake them for a UK toilet. Anyways, I think it was something like $5 fo an hour (does anyone know?). You open the door and have JUST enough space for your luggage and the little bed.
I REALLY wanted to use one. But my flights all lined up perfectly. But if I ever have to stay there for 2-6 hours I want to try one.
I did it a couple years ago, but you cant register your luggage, you just have to keep it with you. It was boring, but quiet, so you can sleep a little. I think the McDonalds opened at 5.
Living at airports is easier than I thought.
