The app iSnob is pretty cool....

it sends out a message to everyone around you that you have an iphone and would like others to know this very important piece of news.

For Mandarin:

-Chinese Food is a good app to learn all types of food (fruits, veggies, meats)

- KTdict - is a great dictionary

- pinyin chart is a great free app to help you with your tones

- Mandarin is an app w/ great phrases like, "Fire!" and "My child is missing!"

Games:

Boggle- Best game ever.

Social:

Wechat keeps you in touch w/ all of your Chinese friends. Better than QQ.

KKCC:

I just got an iPhone 4S here in China and would like several good dictionary apps: English-Chinese and Chinese- English.  I'll look at the KTdict you suggest.

Does anyone else have any tips on what are truly the best bilingual dictionary apps out there?  Preferably free, but pay is okay, too, as long as the price isn't exorbitant.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

KT Dict is a great free dictionary. BE sure to set it to simplified Chinese though.

I agree with Brenda. WeChat (Weixin) is great for IM'ing. Most of my students have it on their phones, and I use it much more than QQ as I have an iTouch, and it is always by my side.
