So I have had Baijiu before and it tastes like really bad vodka to me ... especially for the price but I remember when I was a student here one of the cafeteria staff I was friendly with was in a supermarket with me and pointed a 5 rmb bottle of "baijiu"... so I bought it and it was really sweet and actually quite palatable despite the price. I have asked many Chinese since and they say it is still baijiu... this was back in Wenzhou and I thought maybe it was a local brew... but tonight I found a small bottle that peaked my curiosity and I bought it and it tastes exactly the same... it has the a sweet taste with a hint of Anise to it... I am curious if anyone could maybe enlighten me on what this is exactly?
It is paint remover. You need to find the stuff that is panty remover.

Valid point sir but back home I am called "grandpa" for many reason but in respect your comment I am a bit old fashioned in my ways :/
TedDBayer:
Panty remover is easier for you to drink. For women you'd need something that tastes like hot water. I tried baijiu to clean the grime off my scooter, actually didn't remove the paint or the grime. Need soap and water.

Once again your right on... most women I know do not like hard tasting alcohol.. but to be honest I have never really seen a Chinese women drink hard ... except on a few occasions in a club where guys forced it upon them

Panty remover > paint stripper, but strippers by themselves are good.
With baijiu, whatever the question is, the answer is "don't!"

Right on. I better like to drink a glass of gasoline instead.
if want to drink baijiu go to shanxi province...they make it the traditional way...other parts of china its more synthetic!
If it smells don't drink it... If it doesn't then get it down you neck!
Dude, there is nothing good about Baijiu! But if you gotta know, the main ingredient in Baijiu is sorghum which gives it its taste.
