Q: Sending personal items back to the U.K?

Hi does any body know the best way of shipping some items back to the U.K mainly clothes, i am heading back to the U.K soon and i have a lot more clothes then i can remember, i would like to keep them as most was brought in the UK on my visits home,

so does any one know of the most cost effective way of doing this? i have seen some excess baggage shipping companies but they want 2700 rmb per 30 kilo's seems a little high to me,

i was thinking about sending them back in small parcels by china post?

any ideas would be great

I've sent clothing back, and my mum has sent here by China post. Both times it went 'missing'. Avoid using China post!!

I've sent a fair few parcels back via China Post without any problems. Just take the stuff to the post office, they give you a box, and you fill it (pack it well), then they seal it up and you fill in some paperwork, (a Chinese speaker / writer / reader is almost essential for this). I've had stuff go missing UK - China but never the other way round, of course I may just be lucky.

Yeah, when my mum sends stuff by recorded royal mail.. apparently they can only track it as far as Beijing, then it's hit or miss whether it arrives in my city or not. The address even has both English and Chinese on it.

Hello thanks for the reply's , i have found this company which is by far the cheapest and fastest i have i have seen, they can ship door to door a 20 kilo med size suitcase for £135 from almost anywhere in china to England with an amazing 4 day turnaround !!! 24 hours notice to collect

i have emailed them and the customer service seems to be great and i so far no real horror stories.
