Q: Is there a local chat app that is often used instead of WeChat?

I want to know what options there are.

Yes. In some places it is called 'text message'. It's not really as convenient as wechat and i doubt many people would read or reply to a text message these days.

Why are you reluctant to use wechat?

Use taobao and other shopping apps to make money with your merchant account. People will be sending you messages all day and all night. You will never be lonely and will make lots of money. Mazel.
