Q: What are the rules for shipping Chinese antiques to the US?

I have some bronze arrowheads, knives, coins, and a few other things.  Eventually I want to ship them home to the US but I understand this may not be possible.  Does anyone know the real situation?

I don't know anything about it, but this article might be of some help to you.

I'm sure there would be lots of info and advice out there if you google it, it seems like the sort of question that would come up reasonably often.

Stiggs:

I'm going off topic here, this has nothing to do with the question but... I wonder why search engine names always sound like noises you make when you're playing with a baby. Duck duck go, bing, google, yahoo....

Thinking back most of the people I've known who worked with computers, and the sort of people likely to design a search engine have been a bit...well... peculiar.

I agree ... names of the search engines are turned into subliminal ... messages, i.e. use mine 'cause it sounds good, better than ...

I am DDG fan 'cause (as they say ...!) there are no tracking at DDG, but who knows what's true. I also use Opera browser and DDG search engine comes with ...

Stiggs:

There was a thing in the news recently about DDG allowing tracking. I think it turned out there's some but it's still better than the others, I didn't pay much attention at the time though so probably didn't see the whole story.

I find DDG pretty good too, mostly if I'm looking for results Google isn't showing. I gave up worrying too much about tracking a long time ago, if you use the internet you should just assume you're being tracked so some extent I think.

I read about that ... It was title like "... DDG is scamming the users by claiming no tracking ...', something in these lines.

I don't care about tracking, either. I have TOR and I am using it when I want more privacy ..., but I am using it more and more, he he.

I also have PreVeil Drive, encryption software installed, but as I understand encryption works only when both, sender and receiver have the thingy installed. However, I sent an email to my cousin few days ago and she replied: "My computer says that's not you ..." ... like somebody hacked my email address and is using it from different IP/different puter. But, that ain't and it's 'cause my everything puter's is encrypted, but if receiver doesn't have it, then sent text is wide open to the prying eyes at the receiver's end.

The only reason, I use encryption and TOR is to give a hard time to snoopers. I don't do anything illegal over the web, so I don't have too many worries, except .gov is reading what I say and tracking where I go over the web ... and I am convinced they do it.

I don't see encryption .. any different than when in real life, you don't want everybody in the pub hear what you're saying, so you lower your voice or you whisper.

What I also do on my the smallest HD (8 GB) puter is I clean history and cookies several times per day. It's very simple task on Opera browser.

I am thinking, if somebody would grab or hack my puter, there wouldn't be much to see on my previous use, maybe some couple of hours browsing history. They would certainly have to dismantle and look into my HD.

TOR browser erases all history and other software dung automatically at every reboot.

A:In my personal experience, teaching certificates have varied in relevance depending on the context and location. Here's a breakdown of each aspect:a) Getting the teaching job: Teaching certificates can certainly enhance your chances of securing a teaching position, especially in formal educational settings such as schools and language institutions. Many employers prefer candidates who have undergone specific training in pedagogy and instructional techniques, which these certificates often provide. However, other factors such as experience, references, and the demand for teachers in a particular area also play significant roles in the hiring process.b) Getting a higher salary than your uncertified competitors: In some cases, holding a teaching certificate can indeed lead to a higher salary compared to uncertified competitors. Many educational institutions have structured salary scales that take into account factors such as level of education, years of experience, and additional certifications. Holding a teaching certificate may place you in a higher salary bracket or make you eligible for certain salary incentives or bonuses. However, this can vary widely depending on the specific policies of the institution or organization.c) Getting promotions: Teaching certificates can be beneficial for career advancement and securing promotions within the field of education. They demonstrate a commitment to professional development and mastery of teaching skills, which are qualities that many employers value when considering candidates for leadership positions or administrative roles. Additionally, some promotions may require specific certifications or qualifications, making holding a teaching certificate essential for advancement in certain cases.Regarding which certificate yields better results, it largely depends on the specific requirements of the job market and the educational context in which you intend to work. For example:A Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) is often highly regarded in formal school settings and can be advantageous for those seeking positions in primary or secondary education.Montessori certification is valuable for individuals interested in working in Montessori schools or implementing Montessori principles in their teaching approach.A Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate is particularly relevant for those seeking to teach English to non-native speakers in international contexts or language schools.Ultimately, the best certificate for you will depend on your career goals, the specific requirements of the positions you're interested in, and the preferences of potential employers in your target job market. It's essential to research the requirements and preferences of employers in your desired field and tailor your qualifications accordingly. -- ruqaiya761
