There are many different Chinese ebikes in China, plus on top a few foreign too.  Many prefer Japanese ones, I really do not know if they are that good or reliable.

E-bikes comes mainly with two types of electric motors.  One is 48 volts, the other is 60 volts.  Also come prepared for one or two passengers.  Depending on your weight and size, I do strongly suggest you buy one with 60 volts engine, plus make sure you also get with it a good heavy duty battery, they are rated in Amperes-hour, the higher the number the better.  Mine gives me about 100 Kms range in daytime, or 80 of nighttime driving (because of lights).  make sure your bike has a foot pedal brake, hand operated brakes are not that reliable for their stopping power.  My bike takes 6 to 8 hours to fully charge from a discharged condition.

In purchasing a bike in China, insure you also get a good hard hat, with a full visor to protect you from wind and rain.  A wheel lock is a must, buy one of the expensive ones (about 80 yuan) that can not be cut thru, it is safer.

And please, do drive slow and in a defensive mood until you master and become proficient in driving one here in China, there are some crazy dudes out there.  Cars. buses and trucks are bigger than you, so they will not respect you even with right of way (what is that in China), so yield to them always.  And if driving on a street gets too risky, just get on a sidewalk where you will be bigger than pedestrians.

It is hard to get a discount on ebikes, but not impossible.  It took me almost three weeks until I found one that satisfied my needs.  Don't ask me the brand name, it is in Chinese characters.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
