The right name is 'Residence permit' and not working visa. Working visa is Z visa, which expires in 30-days after issuance. Z visa is turned into the Working permit in few days after your entry to China.

It depends ... if matter will be organized, then I guess all FTs will be summoned to PSB where they'll cancel yer Residence permit accompanied with short exit visa extension.

I'd say, try to get new job elsewhere, i.e. not at the new Training mill, but at the Public School. Your present RP can be easily transferred to the new employer ...

Also, apply for job outside of China and be ready to move.

Once, your RP will be cancelled or before it expires, you are entitled for an (exit) extension. That extension use to be 30-days and it was warranted by the Law, but I'd say these days it will be much shorter ... a week or 2-weeks, tops.

For an exit extension, RP sponsor must take you to PSB a week before RP expires or it's planned to be cancelled.

The extension time is now 60 days.

If your contract has concluded then you will have to leave the country as your residence permit will expire.

Assuming you want to stay in China, you should be sure to have some back up jobs and you can apply to those. In the meantime you can apply for a stay permit. You would need the release letter and work permit cancelation receipt from the original employer. If you are applying for an unrelated job you will need to prove two or more years of working experience.

Change the profession. Look for jobs ASAP that will provide you a work permit if you wish to stay in China.

If you wish to leave, ask PSB to secure you a way out.

Stiggs:

You don't need the PSB to leave, if you're a foreigner (and unless things have changed drastically for the worse recently, a local too) in China you're free to leave anytime you want as long as you can buy a plane ticket and are legally able to enter the destination of your choice.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
