Q: What is the most useless job in China?

Broncogerry just got me thinking, what is the most worthless job in China.

For me it is not the security guards a scanners going into the metro, it is the people in yellow who stand on the platform and ensure no one is standing on the yellow lines, followed by the security guard that supervises their supervision of metro users.

I think of a PE teacher.

It usually involves a math or physics or English teacher walking into the classroom JUST before a PE lesson, and making that super saddening announcement:

Hey class, the PE lesson will be replaced by mine due to an upcoming important test.

Whole class, shiiit .......................

icnif77:

Similar as once I entered the wrong class ... and whole class went wild with applauding and what not ... angel

As I cool them down and start with the class, Chinese (she) teacher entered the class and said something to me in Chinese ... 'cause me being a big no-ming-bai ... , students told me I am in the wrong class ...

As I apologized to the Chinese teacher and packed my belongings, students went .."... NOOO.., stay ..."

Well I don't see how your story was related to being useless? Apparently you were useful and liked by the kids.

"Influencers"

Stiggs:

I was about to say the people whose job seems to be sweeping floodwater but yep, influencers might just take the prize.

I don't think they'd call themselves influencers but yeah, there are people who have a lot of followers who donate and support their channel while they travel the world or work full time making their videos. Some are really good channels too.

The influencers though... a lot of them call themselves 'content creators' now cos they're artists don't you know... there might be a few good ones out there but from what I've seen they're mostly just muppets who do stupid things to get attention and clicks.

A guy who livestreams himself sleeping...

He got over 10k followers within a week, who constantly ask him to sleep.

Stiggs:

Lol really? I've never heard of that before, what sort of weirdo watches people sleep...

Kudos to him though, if he can get paid for it why not, most people need to sacrifice sleep and free time for their 2nd job, not that guy.

Maybe he has a funny snore or screams out weird things in his sleep or something, not exactly riveting viewing but at least on a par with most reality tv shows.

I was catching a bus in a very small town in China and they had someone who kept a clipboard with the bus number and tag when they left the station. Computerize stamped tickets and they still keep him around with cameras everywhere recording every thing.

Stiggs:

In my experience the guy with the clipboard taking notes is often the most useless (and hated) person in any workplace.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
