Q: What team sports are available for females in or near to Shijiazhuang, Hebei?

I am new to China, Shijiazhuang and desperately looking for a sport club to join. I am an avid field hockey player, but I can't seem to find anything similar in this area. I'm happy to consider other sports such as netball, or badmington or basketball or soccer, but not sure where I can find a womens team for this in Shijiazhuang / Hebei. I know there are lots of expat groups closer to Shanghai where I can do all these sport, but I can't seem to find any in this area of China. Does anyone hae any suggestions or know of places I could go to?

Something you don't see much in China is sports clubs.

Badminton seems to be popular everywhere though as a social sport, it's easy to get into and you don't need to find and join a team to do it, just the local badminton court.

Try closer to Shanghai. The only team sport you might find where you are is taking contrived selfies at ktv, snacking, shopping and the number one sport for local girls, sleeping. Good luck and have fun.

Wolf tip #24: you are in China now. Adapt. The sports/activities you did in [insert anglo country] are unlikely to be of interest to women here.

I have a friend who does  Rugby coaching in China, and his wife is involved in all sorts of sports. They basically spend all their time going all over China doing coaching , and playing sports.

Sent me a pm with your wechat and I will put you in touch.

Thank you for the feedback. That will be a huge help. I will send you my wechat id shortly

Does the swingers club above the KTV count?

Girls are not encouraged to play sports, in fact most high school PE classes the girls just gossip and never exercise. There are sports universities in larger cities were you may find some activities.

I often wonder if there is a table tennis town hidden in the mountains. I am sure kids who show promise are whisked away to do olympic preperation.
