Q: Wow, you got an amazing online job offer because you're in China...But!

Guys, I'm an HR at my school of 25 foreign teachers, had an issue I wanna throw out here and please spread the word as it's a risk to anyone who accepts to work online while in China. I'll explain below:

Yes, by now you all know 1 million plus teachers & Chinese staff lost their jobs due to the new policy that they can't hire online teachers working outside of China.

Now these online Chinese companies want to hire foreign teachers in China to work online from home as a part time job for 185 RMB to 300 RMB, you see Panda Jobs on Wechat official accounts.

But.... They require your a copy of your WORKING PERMIT card & WORKING Visa... This is common sense guys, don't do it.. Your card can only be taxed and registered with one company and one address.

So why worry? I'll tell you what happened yesterday Monday August 30th 2021:

We had a new teacher transferring jobs and we got all of his documents in order and working permit approved, now it's time for the resident permit (working visa), we submitted it in the morning and this morning Tuesday we received notice that his application was rejected for a resident permit.

The Online Company used his working permit ID and registered it somehow for something, however they used it, it's in the system for that company.

So he joined this company while on the 30 day humanitarian Visa / job transfer stage.

We asked how do we fix it? At first they refused and said he broke the law, I told them itsa gray area, he didn't know, he was stupid, so after asking the working permit officer for forgiveness, they agreed but is required to get a release or cancelation letter from that online company to show they unregistered his working permit ID. Hopefully they will, I'll update you guys, it's a good lesson to learn from.

Don't send or give a 2nd company your working permit card copy, number or working visa or it's number or pictures of it to anyone, don't trust the so called Chinese smile when they tell you ”don't worry”..

Please help friend's and colleagues because this is a new risk to getting your visa renewed, and you wouldn't know until renewal time.

This story makes no sense , even if they had a copy of his work permit it is impossible for them to register him as an employee with out all the relevant paper work require in the PSB as it would of needed to have been transfered from his previous employer( you stated yourself in the article that you can only be registered by one company )

The only way this could of happened is if he had actually  worked for that online company from the beginning .Also how can he have a work permit and also be on a 30 day humanitarian Visa?

Sounds to me he was in the process of transfering jobs or had already transfered to the online company and then had a change of heart !

Why would you need Chinese Working permit or any other Chinese document, if you are not working in China, but online from anywhere in the world .... common sense, indeed! surprise

ButT ... I agree, many gullible people around, so warning is well appreciated!

Yeah, you can read the new online teaching policy floating around everywhere or on any platform, it states: If online companies wanna hire online teachers it must be a teachers with a working permit that's in education and qualified to teach. But they didn't tell those online companies that they can't hire or use our information because they technically don't have the license to hire foreigners within China. Some do like VIPKID but most online companies don't. So there you have it.

I tried once to get hired last year or so, and we just had an interview. Once, I passed the pronunciation test, I was hired couple of days later. I also sent them my CV before that and they said I'll need quick Internet connection and that was all.

I guess, all things you state are required with the "L-hand-to-the-R-pocket-goin'-around-the arse" China ... .  Man, they can complicate ordinary things ...

I see beyond retarded, you would ask USA or any other citizen for the Chinese Working permit  ... Everything goes over the web.

I was a bit worried about the payment for the completed classes at mine, but then I just gave-up on online teaching. I prefer classroom teaching with the real/live students contact.

China launches strict crackdown on private tuition by banning online teaching and sessions in certain locations

China’s Ministry of Education has banned tutors from conducting sessions online and in unauthorized locations off campus, to stop individuals profiting from private teaching after incidences of people disguising tuition.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
