Q: Is a 2 years work experience absolutely necessary to get a Chinese work visa?

Officially? Yes.
Truthfully? No.
Traveler:
However, if somebody comes along that will work cheaper, there is no guarantee that the employer will not use the fact that you don't have two years work experience to fire you.

Not everyone is coming to work in a school here..You are obsessed with Teaching and Schools in china
For the reply..
Yes for the alien employment permit you need it.
Follow the links in this piece here
But basically yes you need 2 years experience but it doesn't necessarily have to be in teaching that decision is up to the employer and even then the requirement is often ignored.
In reality no.
MOST people I know on work visa's have little to NO experience. I even know a lot of people on work visa's who don't have a college degree even though it's supppose to be "required".
There's far to many agencies out there that will get you a work visa for the right price, regardless if you meet the qualifications or not.
The downside to this is that if you were ever to get in any kind of legal trouble or if the people providing you the work visa were ever to get in any kind of trouble the police/government would realize whats going on with your work visa and deport you.
