Funny thing is why do people not remember Teachers' Day, Fathers' Day, Bosses' Day etc but everyone remembers Valentine's Day, Mothers' Day and Secretaries' Day?

Well, to all teachers here and thereafter, Happy Teachers' Day!

I feel like 90% of the expatriates in here are doing teaching for living.

Robk:

I think you may be wrong, I think it may be something more like 70-80% actually going by some polls in the past.

Eorthisio:

Well, you can earn more than professional expats by teaching if you know your game (how to get students, how to charge them totally abusive fees without scaring them away) and work on your own instead of binding yourself to a crappy employer.

Mateusz:

Most of the expats are not fluent in Mandarin, which would close off many job opportunities. Teaching is work that can be done without Mandarin fluency, and provides a decent salary.

lol.... I used to be a crap teacher but now I am a crap businessman...

Why isn't there a Businessman's Day? We need love too you know (which is why so much business is done at KTV or in a massage parlor), makes me miss being a teacher sometimes...

...and then it passes.

ScotsAlan:

You can't have a business mans day.

Because the people at the top have to pay for the people at the bottom.

That's socialism, without Chinese characteristics

A:Good question!  I'd say, if you study at Uni in China beside working full-time as an E.T. with Residence permit, you don't interfere with your full-time employment. It's your free time and you can do anything you want, with respect to the Chinese laws and customs. Have a look at terms of Z visa/Residence permit and ... ".. you cannot work (and earn monies!) with another employer ..."That's all it is! Your RP sponsor title is written on the RP stamp in your passport, I think. It's in Mandarin, so I've heard about that from someone ...At I.D.-ing by cops, they know where you work and than more details about you are just a phone call away ... and it happened in person ... LOL ... during the day-time stroll through Wulumuqi, Xinjiang, 2012/13 semester. Now under RP, you're free to surf Internet, jog, ... and study, too. I suggest, you look and ask at the Uni, you plan to study in the future. Have a detailed look at requirements for studying and attending chosen Uni.Good luck! -- icnif77
