Q: Is answer of the day really answer of the day?

It's name suggests that it should be updated everyday, but strangely it isn't.
It also suggests that an answer in one day should be chosen for that day and not from the day or week before, yet strangely it isn't. I know this because I had answer of the day with a post that was a few days old.

I think it hasnt been updated because of the holiday. Even cats need vacation time.

I don't think it states anywhere the answer has to be from a post for that particular day, more of an acknowledgement of good, researched answers.

GoldenBoy:

It does it says answer of the day not answer of the day before for example.

Yeah just wait until the cat comes back. He will so prove you wrong by deleting your question for criticizing this website. And have this feeling that neither of us will be chosen for answer of the day for awhile.

The answer of the day from what I can tell gets awarded to a reply to a question that seems to be particularly helpful. You get 20 points for getting answer of the day as well.

I've noticed that on some days where there aren't really any "good" questions (ie: Why do foreigners...) the AotD won't be updated simply because there aren't any good answers, but I do think it's not being updated due to vacation time.

A:I had a similar experience in HK. If I recall correctly, before or at the Z visa application, I had to submit ME from the ordinary HK clinic, where I explained why I need ME and I asked them to examine only necessary things (I don't remember the cost ...), and then ... I got Z stamp and when back in China, I had to complete another RP ME, which was on the employer, i.e. included in the Contract ...We've never discussed refund of payment for HK ME with my employer. Year 2013 ...I'd say, that is a regular thingy embassies around the world require, before issuing visas for LT stay in the country. "Vladimir Vladimiro-Witch ras-Putin" (LOL@your pronunciation ..) demands the same thingy before granting LT stay in Ruski.  ... Haa, 2013 was the Snowden's year. I was in Kowloon at the time of his landing .. with all these files ... I'm-Still-in-LMAO-State ... Cost for the ME in HK was around HK$ 2000/200 EUR, and ME was kind of swift, quicker and way shorter than on the mainland ... -- icnif77
