As my Chinese is quite poor, I'm looking for tours around China organized (and led!!) by expats. Do these exist? Can anyone who has any experience recommend any good ones?

My advice the best way to see China is without groups. Experience China in your own time and not being led around by a group is by far a better way.
Find some places you want to go to read up on the history of the area hop on a train or plane and enjoy.
Learn a few Chinese words to help along with your Chinese.
Some hotels in Beijing have advertisments for tours
the guid is a local and usaly speaks good english
however there is a catch
they will take you to the tourist traps that they get a cut from
so it can be like a imfo- mershal on wheels
Hi. I am helping expats/foreigners in Shenzhen do excursions of mountain/river trip, white water rafting, beach trip near Shenzhen.
I can also help them making trips to yangshuo/Guilin.
I can make individual tour and group tour. It's hard to get to those cool remote places alone, especially you don't speak the lanaguage, and people will over charge you for being foreigner.
My email is ladybugstour@hotmail.com. If there is anything I can help let me know~
