Firstly, the person would probably have to speak Chinese.  I don't know about licensing requirements here but they do exist.  Secondly, you may wish to try one of the larger international clinics in Shanghai.  Sometimes they don't work as doctors but as medical consultants.

Hospitals look at certain things and experience is usually on the top of their list. That is odd because how else would you get experience if they aren't willing to hire you. Same goes with teaching. I would say that you could get a job in a hospital because I've seen some foreigners working in hospitals here in China and I'm not sure if they spoke Chinese or not. The only thing I know is that they were foreigners, but the only thing is the person that was working at the hospital had like over ten years of experience and he was in charge of the department where he was working. I would say your chances are good if you have graduated from a school in China because they look at that too!

Thats why most Medical training programs have "internships". They get training and experience at the same time.

You may want to check the "Foreign Clinics" which many cities have.

and also i did my 1year internship in my country pakistan i have my letters

xerxes:

working as a paid doctor in china. you must have HSK 6 or 8 band certificate and of course the skills as well. they have their own license examinations. though originally its in chinese but i have heard you can take it in english as well. there are steps for it. as far as working in china chinese is must. though teaching to foreigners can play a good role if university agrees to keep you for a semester and there after. though there are agencies and consultants who will provide you with job as teacher in medical school but they have their own terms and conditions.

best of luck...

I am the medical director for a medical group within China. We employ foreign doctors including general practitioners and specialists. Licensing within China is carried out by each province and foreign doctors can work within China if they fulfill the licensing requirements.

Most  foreign doctors are found in the larger cities and places like Hong Kong and Macau.

We also employ some foreign nurses and ancillary staff.

I have a European Medical degree and trained as a specialist surgeon.

A:I had a similar experience in HK. If I recall correctly, before or at the Z visa application, I had to submit ME from the ordinary HK clinic, where I explained why I need ME and I asked them to examine only necessary things (I don't remember the cost ...), and then ... I got Z stamp and when back in China, I had to complete another RP ME, which was on the employer, i.e. included in the Contract ...We've never discussed refund of payment for HK ME with my employer. Year 2013 ...I'd say, that is a regular thingy embassies around the world require, before issuing visas for LT stay in the country. "Vladimir Vladimiro-Witch ras-Putin" (LOL@your pronunciation ..) demands the same thingy before granting LT stay in Ruski.  ... Haa, 2013 was the Snowden's year. I was in Kowloon at the time of his landing .. with all these files ... I'm-Still-in-LMAO-State ... Cost for the ME in HK was around HK$ 2000/200 EUR, and ME was kind of swift, quicker and way shorter than on the mainland ... -- icnif77
