Q: Anybody watching the Olympics on CCTV?

I've never watched the Olympics in any other country besides my home country and China.  Yesterday there was a Short Track Speed Skating event in which all the competitors fell down(aside from the Chinese competitor) and the announcers openly cheered for the others' misfortune.   I thought it was extremely, I don't know, shabby!?  Have you ever heard a national announcer in your home country actively root for the misfortune of others?  If so, was that announcer called out for such actions?

You have reminded me of the bad form of the Chinese announcers during last month's Australian Open, ultimately won by Li Na.  Their bias towards Chinese competitors was really bad.  Pathetic, in fact
Right now I'm watching the curling at the olympics and China are playing against the number one ranked team, Canada. It's just started so I'll turn the sound on and see if the commentators carry on the same way. If they do, I'll bung on a Hulk and smash the tv to smithereens.

Yeah I watched last week during the speadskating event. It was pretty terrible. I was starting to think the government paid someone off when this chinese girl who was in forth place, won in the event, because EVERY other skater all of sudden fell and crashed in to the barrier all at the same time, allowing her to take the lead. Apparently from what my student's parents told me, China either has never won in this event so the Chinese girl made history..not because of skill, because of some REALLLLLLY good luck...or perhaps guanxi? hehe indecision
