I was, for the first time, forced into a Starbucks a few days ago (damn female mind control), and the first thing I noticed was EVERYONE was sitting there with either an iPhone or a Macbook (hipsters). This, well-evidently, wasn't the first time I saw Apple users, but the first time I saw such a concentrated group of them. Compared to my home country, and speaking of percentage, holy moly do Chinese people seem to like Apple. Look at the beijing apple store incident!
I've never really understood why people loved apple so much (I know the ads look nice and their products are attractive to the eye), so my question here is, do Chinese people like Apple products up to the point that it became worshipping it? And what's the reason behind this, other than wanting to look good by having the most popular and expensive thing on the market (which is common here)?

If you wander into almost any Starbucks in North America you will witness the same thing. Hipsters all over the world love Apple products because they are "cool". Usually it's the artsy design types that use them...business types still stick to Blackberry, Samsung and PC's
In China this has been taken to another level entirely. Apple spends 10x as much on advertising in China as it does in America, and it seems to have paid off in spades. You are nobody in China unless you have an Iphone or Ipad....all about face.
And they do have churches too...the Apple store serves them as a place of worship.

I know the picture quality is amazing on Apple products, so it's obviously the best choice for artists and such. But Starbucks hipsters have no excuse whatsoever. About the "churches"... haha, true. They're always full, too!
My brother just bought an Macbook and an iPad for my mom. it looks so exquisite!
picture looks finer. operation is interesting since I dont really familiar with the Mac system. nothing else.

ha....Apple MacBooks light in weight, if it wasnt for its sleek design i would never buy it.
It's a status symbol -- Apple products are not cheap and are more expensive than similarly-tooled items. Apple kind of ignored the Chinese market until about 6 - 7 years ago; even then there wasn't an Apple store in China and then they had a change of (commercial) heart. After all, they were producing Apple products in Shenzhen and in Suzhou and yet they were not selling them here. So it changed. Apple is esthetically perfect but sometimes it lacks across-the-board compatibility, IMHO.

simple apple products in china is a "get laid card" (if that makes sense) i was at the airport a few days ago. sitting across from me was a stunning beauty (i didnt make a move on her becoz she looked too young) but a guy sits next to her pulls out his macbook. and all of a sudden she cant keep her legs still. she stares at the macbook him macbook him, for the entire time until the flight boards. and she had a look in her eyes she was seriously arroused! everytime the dude looked up i was shooting him signals to talk to the girl next to him, but the douche just ignored her i wanted to smack him
