Q: Are car reveiws here any good

We are about to buy my stepson a new car. We have a maximum price of 100,000rmb and I would favour Volkswagen.Does anyone know of car reviews for cars sold here, written in  English that are trustworthy. Does anyone know of any other cars in the price range worth considering.

If you want a Volkswagen, get a Skoda. Same factory, same parts, slightly lower price.

Are you looking for second hand or new for that price?? If your looking for VWs and other non chinese cars why do you need china specific websites?? Read some European ones as their engine specs match up closer to chinese cars

They used to have an english car site..... Chinacartimes. Com but i havent been able to open in like a year. Maybe a VPan? Or its gone.

Ilikedumplings:

"If your looking for VWs and other non chinese cars why do you need china specific websites?"

Because cars are manufactured to suit the safety standards of the country... So the manufacture will put less safety features on the car to save money, if the standards are lower in that country...  USA=high UK=high Aust=high Ind=low China=low Thai=low...

Here's a very useful website :
http://chinaautoweb.com

I had a similar budget as you...You have to consider if you want MT or AT, of course MT is much cheaper. If you really want a VW, you could only buy a New Polo, and it would be MT base model because you have to consider tax + insurance :

http://chinaautoweb.com/car-models/new-polo-from-shanghai-volkswagen

Or a Skoda Fabia, AT basic :

I bought a Mazda 2 a year ago, it rules! It's looks and feels sporty, very easy and FUN to drive. We got a 1.5 AT model but we bargained a lot, so we got it for the same price as a 1.3 AT (10 K cheaper). So it was around 95 K (including all taxes, insurance etc.). So what you can do is go to a smaller dealership, easier to get the price down in those...

But anyway I've always liked Japanese cars...The Mazda 2 is here, if you wanna consider it :

Good luck! angel

A:Good question!  I'd say, if you study at Uni in China beside working full-time as an E.T. with Residence permit, you don't interfere with your full-time employment. It's your free time and you can do anything you want, with respect to the Chinese laws and customs. Have a look at terms of Z visa/Residence permit and ... ".. you cannot work (and earn monies!) with another employer ..."That's all it is! Your RP sponsor title is written on the RP stamp in your passport, I think. It's in Mandarin, so I've heard about that from someone ...At I.D.-ing by cops, they know where you work and than more details about you are just a phone call away ... and it happened in person ... LOL ... during the day-time stroll through Wulumuqi, Xinjiang, 2012/13 semester. Now under RP, you're free to surf Internet, jog, ... and study, too. I suggest, you look and ask at the Uni, you plan to study in the future. Have a detailed look at requirements for studying and attending chosen Uni.Good luck! -- icnif77
