You cannot legally teach English in China with non-English passport
... as it is a norm almost everywhere around the world.
... been there, done that ... for a longer term, before the Labour Law changes in China in 2017 ...
After that, I've tried as a non-English native teacher in Russia, Turkey and Spain, where you can maybe land a job today as a non-native English teacher for a significantly lower pay.
Detailed job market research is advised...
Good luck! ..., but IMO, it's not worth a hassle!

Concerns about visa applications for teachers in China, noting that nationality may not be a big issue, but age restrictions, especially for those over 55, can affect approval and the ability to renew their work permit.
