Does anyone know the names of the Chinese provinces whereby a foreign teacher who gets a job in one of those provinces can get a Z visa in a 3rd party country? A Chinese recruiter told me that this is possible in some cases/provinces like with Shan Xi province. 3rd party country: Not China or the teachers home country but a different one in which he/she is residing. * ANY help would be appreciated! Thanks! ^^ Please reply ASAP.
Um, Hong Kong you can get a Z visa to any province. Just stop off in HK before coming in.
Hotwater:
No you can't! You need to go back to your home country to get the Z visa in normal cases.

Hmm. Ok. never had a problem with the HK visa run myself. I guess I assumed it was ubiquitous. In that case I would say that you can do it if you plan on living in Sichuan, Chongqing or Xi'an. Heck, not only HK, but I knew a guy who got his in Beijing, now 72 hour visa free. My employers gave me an option to go to Beijing or HK. I chose HK because last time it was in December. Hotwater, what do you mean by normal cases? Perhaps you have a different experience. Actually, now that I think about it, there were a lot of people from the middle east and Africa that were having issues at the HK bureau. I'm USA, I didn't have any problem. Does your home country have something to do with it?

I agree with the Hong Kong solution which I did myself using a connected agent. I had to pay him 1,000 but it went through in 2 days. PM me if you want his name and number.

@Hotheaded, I mean Hotwater, I'm lazy, k, hence the "I'm USA". Less key strokes. I don't know where your bitterness stems from. I'm married to a Chinese, so I've skipped back and forth between visas. Last time I needed a z visa (going on 3 now) was in December 2013. I successfully switched from a q2 visa to a z visa in December 2013 by doing a visa run to HK. So, if you're saying that they closed that loophole (visa run) some time before December 2013, then you're full of sh*t. I'm here, I have a z visa by going through HK. My co-worker, on an f visa, went to Beijing and did the same thing! He didn't even leave the country! So, my point is that the "visa run" is still a viable option for those people trying to obtain a z visa. Now, I'm in Sichuan, but while in HK, I met people that successfully obtained a z visa without having any visa prior. I stayed in a hostel with 4 other people doing the same thing! They landed in HK, permission to stay visa free for "x" days, applied for the z visa, then they left on a plane for their various provinces. This was in December. It sounds like you were fed an excuse for being denied! I'm not sure if your home country has anything to do with it. I'm from the USA and had no problem! No agent or any help from my employer except for the paperwork. I did it, that's a fact!
Why not go home and get everything? Criminal record?
Hulk..no criminal record. It's just so expensive to fly home and would be much more convenient to get the Z visa since I'm already in Asia.
