Q: Can Chinese on lifelong salary leave China and keep salary?

Say you are a policeman, tax-office employee or some such profession where, when you reach 55 years old, will have to retire, yet you keep your salary. Will those people keep getting payments if they leave the country, e.g. those who migrate to the "so-called" west ?

If he still keeps his Chinese nationality  yes. He will need to go to the local embassy or consulate of PRC once every six months, to get a certification to prove that "he is still alive".

I don't get many decent answers in the case that he gives up the Chinese nationality.

Technically PRC doesn't admit multiple nationalities. But in reality there are lots of people holding more than a single PRC passport.

i would think as long as you keep a chinese bank account and the check is direct deposit , they would not know where you are living to get your money. hsbc is in numerous countries.

I know for public servants, every year's spring festival time the boss or someone from the department will pay a visit to all of the retired old men, bring them gifts/money, or maybe check if he is still alive.....or living here, maybe?
