I'm thinking I want to work in China after I graduate from school, but I will have a good amount of loans to pay off from my education back in the States. Is it possible to live comfortably here and pay off loans on time?

Sorry if this sounds boring but that depends on what type of lifestyle you want.
Sit down with a calculator and work out income and expenditure, see what the difference is and realistically decide if you can and / or want to live on that. Of course that applies both to here in China and back at home.
I'd say it's possible, but unless you're looking at the higher end and therefore higher paying jobs, don't expect too much in the way of savings.
If I had loans I wouldn't be here. I make much more back home, and not a whole lot here. Your situation may be different however.
Have to think about your visa and flight cost, and also most of us who come here are more unstable at first because of possible visa issues or problems with the employer. It would be nice to have a financial cushion for these potential delays in getting settled.
I dont see how, unless you are making a western salary in China...
