Q: Chinese Theme Parks .

As we all are aware Health and Safety in China is a contradiction in terms although beware of Alligators in Florida Disney world.
I once went to a tiger park near Harbin and was on edge the whole day
But what about the Big city Theme parks ?
are they any good?
are they good value for money or just another dodgy place to loose a limb?

I went to Happy Valley in Wuhan just a few weeks ago. I noticed that most of the rides were built by foreign companies (often German) so the quality should be OK, but I wouldn't like to think about how well they've been maintained. I managed to properly fuck my neck, it's still not right now, but that's probably more to do with me now being too old for this kind of thing rather than anything else.

I find the big difference between Chinese and Western theme parks is the theming. In China they often just have the rides left as bare metal and put above bare concrete. The y don't seem to have understood that the attractions are just a small part of the overall experience. Disney's ability to make you feel like you've arrived in some sort of fantasy land is why they will wipe the floor with the local competition.

A place where you have to queue sensibly before you get to go on the ride. Yeah, sure.

Chinese Theme parks are more like Six Flags....That being said: After my 6 years in China listening to the street washing trucks incessantly blaring "It's a Small World"...How could that ride be censored from the park? First of all it has an extremely inclusive message without political implications...Second of all they could have modified it into a street washing truck theme...maybe even a water park...to add "Chinese characteristics"
