Q: Creative/funny ways to deal with Beijing's pollution...

Ok so it's really smoggy outside today and it's got be in somewhat of a bad mood, so I thought why not look at it light-heartedly for a change. I propose erecting giant fans around the city that blow the pollution away. Or maybe some giant sucking machine that sucks it all up...yeah I'm rambling

Maybe move all the party members to the worst parts of the city. Once they are living there we might get some decent quality buildings as well. If that doesn't work then maybe wait for the Enterprise to come back and beam it all up to somewhere else.

I was thinking exactly the same thing this morning, building huge purifiers in the center of each district. It is good to know I am not the only one having those crazy thoughts

Then again, I went as far as to think about how it would affect the air currents inside the city and what types of measures would we need to apply to counter that, so maybe I am a little bit more insane

I was thinking of getting rid of cars/buses/bikes and roads in general, and replacing them with a giant network of flat escalators so people just stand there while they get transported to their destination similar to those flat-escalator tracks they have at airports. The only difference with mine would be that they would be much faster and people would have to hold on to a hand-rail. Perhaps there can even be a glass dome over these escalator roads with a purified air ventilation system.

Mobile oxygen tents has to be the way to go. Maybe some young entrepreneur can devise a kind of sealed bubble that fits over the body and can be filled with a suitable microclimate.

for each day that the pollution is above a certain level, a high ranking party member must be executed.

I heard once they were gonna introduce the bubble to encapsulate the entire city. I would actually like to see that happen and see how much pollution we can filter out. On the downside if we are encapsulated in the polluted city with no way of the pollution to get out it could get worst.

Still if they find a way to make that bubble and get rid of the pollution that would be great!
