Flappy Birds went crazy viral in the rest of the world. And the Chinese LOVE their phone games. After Angry Birds was all over China, with merchandise (Tshirts, toys, phone covers etc) I'm surprised that I haven't seen Flappy Birds stuff all over the place. And I haven't really seen people playing it on the subway either...

My wife uninstalled it from my iPad as I was reading about it being removed from iTunes.
Have not seen anyone play it. I most often see people play the games where you just have to "finger your phone" rapidly from side to side, you know, games that doesn't challenge the mind as much as the finger muscles. The built in game in WeChat I've seen many people play recently, but Fruit Ninja and the likes seem popular.

Why'd she uninstall it? Were you playing it too much or was she just clearing some space in general?

I have no idea. Don't ask me why women does stuff, it's like asking why the sky is blue..... oh it isn't.
The local version tampered with spywares and ads isn't ready yet.

Don't forget the un-optimized resource loading, to ensure that it slows your computer/phone down!
I saw some kids playing Flappy Bird (a shameless rip-off of this http://www.zanorg.com/prodperso/pioupiou.html) in the bus... Games that are about creativity and sandbox gameplay, nope, no craze for this here (ie. Minecraft).
sure, my son have downloaded by himself and playing on his tablet
