One of the reasons I came to China was to learn traditional ink painting, as well as caligraphy. I've made some pretty good progress in both areas, but feel that I'm nowhere near good enough to put my work "out there."

It takes many years to truly master any artistic endeavor. Of course, the path to ascendency is proportionate to how often one practices. The general rule is to study those whose work you admire, and then put brush to paper everyday for at least a few hours. Professional artists are just that; professional. It's their job. Most draw at least 8 to 10 hours a day.
