I've never seen a Chinese person own or use any kind of bike safety accessories like lights, reflectors, reflective clothing etc. Similarly, I haven't noticed such things on sale anywhere. Do they exist here?

They do exist inside some bike shops, but asside from biking enthusiasts (the ones who wear the shorts, helmets and pads), I have never seen anyone one wear any safety gear.
I just got myself a mountain type bike about 3 months ago. I wear a motorcycle helmet with visor, since I could not find the one for bicicles, paid 80 yuan for it and 600 yuan for bike, brand new, 18 gears. I got metal fenders put in (35 yuan) to avoid splashes while I ride, and also got what looks like a flash light and mounts on the front next to hand brake, it gives a steady beam, or fast flashes or short flashes, battery operated, cost 40 yuan, removable so it will not be stolen. Got it at the place that sold the bike. Also got a red light flasher, battery operated, installed on the tube that supports the seat, cost 15 yuan.
I feel satisfied not wearing anything else, reflective clothes will not help much more.
