Q: Do have to pay extra maintenance fee for having an off-shore company?

I have this Shanghai registered company, I pay 200rmb a month for an accounting company to deal with the tax maintenance.

I am thinking of registering a Hongkong company or any sort of offshore company, do I have to pay any fee for maintaining it?

Yes you'll have to pay annual accounting fees. Don't know how much though. Why not find a company that specializes in setting up HK companies and ask them what their fees are.

Secretary fees, 'rent' (cos you need to have a fixed address - but that can be a secretarial place used only for business registration/tax purposes), accounting fees, etc. .

Usually, it'll be a yearly fee (ie, not monthly) It'll be more than what you're paying now in China... at least $1000USD per year (depending on who you go through, and what services you request)
