Q: Do people nap in the North?

After lunch, do northerners also nap in China, or is strictly a southern thing?

Yes, I'm in Northeast China (Harbin), and it is very common to see people sleeping after lunch (or whenever they feel like it, actually)

They do in Beijing for the most part, roughly noon until 2. Not so much in the Guomao area.
