Do you like Chinese snacks?
What is your favorite Chinese snack?
Don't tell me it's potato chips or chocolate
One of my favorite Chinese snacks is these little hawthorn berry sugary disk things. I have no idea what they're called, but I love the flavor.
I found these rice crackers that I'm head over heels for. They are very crunchy, a little sweet, and a little salty (soy salty) and oh so yum!
Like Jnusb416, I love the toffee hawthorney stick thingeys. There's actually a little bit of an obsession developing.
I miss Rock Taco Doritos... Those were the best. Oh well.... I guess technically Pringles fall into the potato chip category, but have you tried the Indonesian Satay Pringles? I'm a fan.
Currently I'm addicted to these little potato crackers that have wasabi flavor. I forget the name and I don't have any handy but they're pretty addictive.
There's also some snack foods that say "Lonely God" on the package - they make some pretty good weird snacks - but I'm not quite sure if I like them because they taste good or simply because it's so weird.
Oishi snacks are also rather bizarre but I like some of them. Not the potato chips though or anything shrimp or prawn flavored. Dear god, who was the freak who came up with the idea to put dried shellfish on snacks? It's one of the most vile things ever. Lays has that painfully gross "lobster cheese" flavor which I would only buy if they ran out of vomit flavor. Sorry, 2am rant... Oishi makes this one snack food called "chicken drumettes" which taste almost exactly like really crunchy KFC breaded chicken skin. That's pretty good.
I also do the various seeds, coated peanuts, etc. And dry ramen noodles
And mushroom jerky. Randomly found this at a local supermarket. It looks a lot like beef jerky but is a bit softer and it's made from mushrooms. So good!

Oh....You give me a lot of idea. I plan to introduce some Chinese snacks to my foreigner co-workers here. I do see dry ramen noodles here. Maybe they will like it.:)
My wife loves those vacuum packed, white, chicken feet. I won't touch 'em. I'm a fan of those bags of Oishi wasabi flavoured potato chips.

Those feet are pretty vile... But the wasabi chips - big thumbs up!
1) Shanjiao anything, but especially bamboo shoots. Actually, anything with vacuum-packed fresh bamboo shots is great in my Book.
2) Street bbq/stewed meat. So cheep, so delicious. My favourite is buying an entire duck, and then eating an entire duck. Funny how a country like this could come up with such a manly activity.
3) Pickled garlic, but I could only find the good type when I lived in Jiangsu. I would eat about ten cloves a day. Really miss that pickled garlic.
4) I know you don't want to hear this, Anna, but YA! Tudou: The Chinese have won the potato chip race and this is truly a sad day for our nation indeed.

I don't eat these vacuum-packed stuffs. Frankly speaking, I think it's not good to my health. But I love Oishi :)
