We have a card swiping machine at the door, and it seems a bit unnecessary.
I mean, we are all here. Now most of the employees just gather around the machine waiting for the clock to hit 18:00.
No, in fact I show up whenever I want as long as my tasks are completed on time, and nobody cares if I stay an hour or 60 hours per week in the office I will still get the same pay, it all depend on the amount of work I have to do, mostly curriculum development, schedules, and other paperwork for the foreign teachers working at my training center, as well as a monthly meeting to get their feedback and talk about next month curriculum. And I can't plan too much ahead of time, must meet regularly with the Chinese manager to discuss about further plans.
A badge is required to open nearly every door except the WC in my facility, but it is a regulatory requirement.
Do you mean for security or to clock in for pay? I don't think they would have workers clock in and out in offices here. If they did that they would have to pay their workers for all the overtime they make them do.
