And more importantly is there any truth to the stories about them crawling inside people ears when they're asleep? It sounds bogus, I know, but i've got a nipper and if there's truth to such stories i'm gonna squish the little bas***ds when I see them.
It's true, they crawl inside your ear and take control of your brai- DISREGARD WHAT I SAID, THEY ARE HARMLESS, DO NOT MIND THEM, SLEEP WITH YOUR EARS UNCOVERED.
Dang! You got a lizard problem? You must live way south, bro. Up here in the north (Qingdao), I don't believe I've ever seen a lizard.
But that's not my point.
I grew up in Puerto Rico and we had lizards coming out of our ears! (Just an expression, okay?) I mean, we had everything from cute little geckos to menacing iguanas. The geckos often slipped into our house and we let them stay.
The worst that could happen was they'd leave little pellets here and there that were easy enough to sweep away. The best that could happen - and this is why we let them stay - would be they would feast on all the mosquitos that invaded the house at night.
So, mosquito control without toxic pesticide sprays, smoldering pyrethrum mosquito coils stinking up the place, oily DEET, or nets over the beds.
Gecko power. Someone should market it...
Some countries leave them alone as they are signs or omens of the spiritual world.
Some countries leave them alone as they are a sign that rains will come.
Some countries leave them alone as they eat roaches and other insect.s.
Some countries leave them alone...gotcha...in a wok.
nope. but I was wandering around outside on Palawan one day,,, looked up and about a meter away was a lizard,,, I mean Dinosaur! I wish I knew how to post pics here.... I'd say he was about 2 meters long and porportionally sized... initially scared shit outta me.. well, maybe shocked is better word... darn,, hate to see him walk in my flat some nite.... then 'scared' would be the right word !
skunkman:
hahaha...hope you got your fair share of 'balut' and ginebra!
diverdude1:
I might eat balut if I were starving to death and was being threatened with drawing and quartering if I did not eat it.... might...
I think the cockroaches keep the local lizard population under control around these parts....
